"Blindspot" is a Reoccurring Time-Limited A-Tier Costume for the Embalmer, Aesop Carl that is part of the "Once" series. The costume was originally introduced and sold in the Illusion Hall from September 8th to September 28th, 2022.
Availability[]
As it is not a true Limited Costume (which are denoted by the "limited" tag found in the top right of certain card icons), it can return to the Illusion Hall shop multiple times.

Appearance[]
Physical[]
Aesop's physical appearance is similar to his original costume. His hair is shorter and messier, and he no longer has his ponytail. There is a fresh scar over his left cheek. The ends of his mouth on both sides are stitched with beige thread, as is the bottom of his chin.
Outfit[]
He wears a grey sailor uniform with a white plaid pattern. He has on a long sleeved shirt with black edges, and a grey belt with beige buttons. The collar of his shirt is black, with lighter grey stripes, and is fastened into place by a gold brooch depicting an anchor. He also has on grey plaid shorts, and black striped tights underneath. He has on leather lace up shoes. A piece of paper is taped to his back. There is black text on the paper, partially covered by the sailor collar he wears.

Makeup Box[]
His makeup box has been changed to a brown leather briefcase with golden border. There is a small handmade doll hanging from it.
Coffin[]
His coffin is wooden and resembles a school locker. A tag with the words "7B" is on the front of the coffin, and the words 'FREAK!' are written in black on the bottom of the cover. A silver padlock sits on the side of the coffin.
Special Effects[]
Text floats around him in matches. Dark red text that reads "FREAK!" and "HAHAHAHA!" fades into white text that reads "Mom's waiting", "Leave me alone..." and "Ignore them.". Small white particles fall from the brooch on his front.

Glimmer and dust, sadness and resistance
The premature death of his mother, the ruthless letter of dropping out of school and the "education" of his master have become the most colorful footnotes in the life of the embalmer. If the time were set back before he was dropped out of school, what kind of environment and life would he face? Enter the Embalmer's "Blindspot" during the new retrospection, which will take you to the so-called "visual blind spot" and witness the evil deeds and prejudices filled here.
In the poster, the embalmer - "Blindspot" is sitting on the floor of a dark room. The dim light shines through the window and a little bit of dust rises. The coffin covered with white cloth is placed on the table. The school bag and books are placed beside him, holding them tightly in his hands. Holding a piece of paper that had been posted somewhere, and another piece of torn letterhead still on the ground, he hugged his legs vigorously, absorbing the long-lost warmth and courageous strength, hanging low His face is full of despair and sadness, but also contains unyielding and stubbornness. He will eventually get out of this world and strive for a broad and free space.
Evil deeds linger and there is no escape
The embalmer - "Blindspot" is dressed in an elegant school uniform, with a unique badge tied to his gauze scarf. His clean and tidy attire shows his rigorous and meticulous character; the bag on his right hand is of excellent workmanship, but somehow it looks a bit damaged. The small white human doll on the bag has drooped eyes, and seems to be enveloped in negative emotions.
At this time, the embalmer - "Blindspot" spot had not yet put on the white mask and gloves, and his youthful appearance was revealed. There was no trace of sunshine or hot blood on his thin face, but there were eye-catching scars and tight lips. Behind him, Under the scarf, a piece of paper with unsavory words written on it was posted. The sounds of ridicule, curses, and defense and resistance were embodied in the words surrounding him, portraying an image of him being bullied but always fearless to fight back.
Extradite the wanderer, an irresistible invitation
Serving every deceased person responsibly and returning them to the way they were before they were alive is the greatest respect the embalmer has for the "passengers" who have reached the end of their lives. This also makes him become the person who carries out the dream of most people. The obsession to extradite the wanderer and a letter of invitation made him join the manor, starting an endless pursuit.
At the time of the Once costume show, the embalmer - "Blindspot" was suffering unimaginable suffering and torture, but he would eventually break free and leap to new life. Perhaps, the manor's invitation is destined to be irresistible to him, and he will use his skills and patience to extradite every wanderer to the other side of destiny.

Design Idea Plans
In Aesop Carl's mother's heart, her child has always been kind and gentle, he will grow up to be a popular gentleman like his father, and his mother will try her best to give her child the best care and education. However, the brighter appearance of that noble school in other people's mouth, the darker and colder the shadow cast behind the building. Under these shadows, Aesop's family composition, coupled with his own introverted and taciturn character, soon became one of the people swallowed by the shadows. On the other hand, in order not to let themselves become another person in the shadow, the bystanders will only choose to ignore it and choose the corner of the shadow as a blind spot. Maybe the family's complaints can stop all this, but as his mother said, the gentle Aesop will never burden his mother, and he will bear all the physical and mental pain by himself. He will try his best to keep the school uniform clean and tidy and take care of himself. Looking at the dolls sewn by his mother, he told himself to ignore the childish bullies and that his mother was still waiting for him to come home.
Design Idea Sketches
According to the background of the character's story, we designed three concepts of school uniforms, from which we chose the second option, which is more suitable for the era of the character's background, and continued to adjust.
Since it is a costume of the ONCE series, we changed the hair color back to the character's own hair color, and added a sense of mess to the hairstyle. On the basis of the school uniform style, we tried three color schemes again, and chose a gray color scheme that feels more serious and cold.

Showroom Interface Design
He struggled to get out of the locked coffin, the dust flying all over the sky and the sudden trickle of fresh air made him cough violently.
An invisible force grabbed his bag tightly, and he tried to snatch it back, but there was nothing he could do.
The things in the bag were scattered all over the place, he silently picked up the little doll on his back, and sighed.

The ridicule of others and my own rebuttals are all embodied in clear letters, appearing and disappearing around him.
Trivia[]
- The first concept art released for this costume only featured the particle effects reading "FREAK!" and "HAHAHAHA!" It was later updated with one showing the current particle effects over the original effects.
- The paper on his back reads "Vergogna" which means "shame" in Italian.
- The costume's makeup box case made a cameo on "Good Child's" Trailer before being announced and released a year later.
- Aesop's original creator made a fan-design for a potential Once skin for him[3].
- Its description reads, "If the people around him have not left, then he must be a kind and gentle child."
- Considering the context of Aesop's 2020 letter where his biological mother Y.R. calls him a "kind and gentle child," this fan-design is likely set in a universe where Y.R. did not die and she raised Aesop instead of Jerry Carl.
