"D.M.", also known as Désire Mélodis, is a Limited A-Tier Costume for the Photographer, Joseph Desaulniers. It was introduced as part of the 3rd Anniversary package.
It is connected to many essences and events related to the Truth & Inference universe.
Series Reappearances[]
The costume itself has reappeared on many different series many times either "Event Specific" or "Related to Storyline". The list of reappearances is complied in here.
Truth & Inference Series[]
- Golden Rose Theater (Season 12 Essence 1 on Global Servers or Season 17 Essence 2 on Chinese Server) - He appears as a supporting character taking the identity as The Client.
- The Oath of the "Traitors" (Season 15 Essence 3) - He didn't make an appearance or was mentioned, but his family is revealed to be the original owner of the school.
- Mélodis Estate Investigation (Season 17 Essence 1) - He appears as a supporting character taking the identity as "Enigma".
- The Phantom of the Crystal Palace (Season 20 Essence 2) - He didn't make an appearance but is only mentioned on the event.
- The Shrouded Bélóstáin (Season 22 Essence 1) - He didn't make an appearance but is mentioned in the event.
- Castle Zinaida's Unfinished Chapter (Season 27 Essence 2) - (TBA)

Physical[]
Joseph has black, messy hair, a tuft on his left and his ponytail streaked with white. He has azure eyes. The lines of a black tattoo are visible underneath his shirt. His right hand has long dark fingernails. His camera world version is mostly the same but everything about him is grayed including his skin, he has black marks on his face and outfit and his blue eyes are replaced with red ones.

Joseph wears a white collared undershirt with a black vest with silver buttons and embroidery, and a y-shaped collar of the same color. A black belt fastens his purplish-grey trousers, and on his feet he wears black and silver boots. Above his vest, he wears a dark grey jacket with silver embellishments. His left hand is gloved in black and his right hand has a cross shaped ring on it, and a golden '3' brooch is pinned to his left chest. He wears two silver earrings, the left one having a silver chain that connects the earring to his glasses.

His photograph is now a black envelope lined in gold, golden leaf adorning its edges as a decoration. A silver wax stamp sealing it closed.

His camera is a statue of the top half of a woman holding a harp. The statue has a golden floral crown with gold dripping down from it.
Special Effects[]
Gold Sparkles appear around his body and there is a silver sparkle on his ring. Golden Feathers fall from the card.
Backstory[]
From Truth and Inference[1][]
A local nobleman of high academic attainments. Besides being a member of Parliament, he is also an art professor, prestigious among both the upper and lower classes. He seems to be a gentle and witty man but is actually quite nasty. He is also sought after for his looks.

Model Details Description
- The raised corners of his mouth make this gentleman look gentle and trustworthy, but his exquisite glasses obscure part of his unknown expression.
- Priceless watches and accessories always hint at the noble status of the owner, but what kind of secrets are hidden in the letter in the owner's hand?
- The metal medal on the chest is engraved with the mysterious number "3"
- The faint dark lines and the pattern made of silver thread on the hem add a touch of texture to this black coat.
Showroom Interface Design
The art professor "D.M." who was under the spotlight, snapped his fingers and appeared elegantly surrounded by golden light.
"D.M.", who loves collecting art, is very interested in the collection - the statue of the Muse, and looks at it carefully as if there are some unspeakable secrets in it.
The mysterious invitation from "D.M.", the dark envelope is full of danger and temptation. Under the interweaving of fate, who can uncover the true face behind this Earl and get a glimpse of the mystery under the truth?

This costume, "D.M."'s commemorative brooch, exquisite headdress, and low-key ring, all exude luxury and grace, and the mysterious invitation is accompanied by the falling of golden leaves.
Trivia[]
- He is featured as an antagonist within the "Truth and Inference" series, who plots against Lady Truth and Mr. Inference.
- The Client from the Atropos' Ropes storyline and "Enigma" from the Mélodis Estate Investigation storyline, both go by the name "D. M", but have drastically differing appearances.
- His full name was revealed to be Désire Mélodis.
- The original owner of the castle grounds the Lone Moon Girl's School is built on shares this last name.
- His last name is also in the name of the Third Anniversary Event, Mélodis Estate Investigation, as it takes place at his estate.
- D.M. was mentioned in the Phantom of the Crystal Palace as the person in Duke White Raven's correspondence letter that was found later in the 3rd Chapter's investigation.
- The camera for this costume takes the form of a statue of a Greek muse, in reference to the Muse Painting from Beneath the Truth.
- While the specific muse is not clarified, two possible options due to the instrument being held are Terpsichore, the goddess of dance and chorus, and Erato, the goddess of lyrical poetry.
