"Good Child" is a Reoccurring Time-Limited A-Tier Costume for Jack The Ripper that is part of the "Once" series. The costume was originally introduced and sold in the Illusion Hall from July 1st to July 29th of 2021.
Availability[]
As it is not a true Limited Costume (which are denoted by the "limited" tag found in the top right of certain card icons), it can return to the Illusion Hall shop multiple times.
- It was originally available for purchase from July 1st to July 29th 2021.
- It was made available for purchase from July 14th to August 4th 2022 during the The Shrouded Bélóstáin event.
- It was made available for purchase from March 23rd to April 12th 2023 during the Orfeo's Game event. This return was caused by a glitch but it was allowed to stay.[1]
- It returned for purchase from March 28th to April 24th, 2024 during the The Voyage of Oceanus event.
- It returned for purchase from November 21st to December 18th, 2024 during the Thanksgiving Party (2024) event.
Appearance[]
Physical[]
When equipped, Jack has more of his physical features revealed, with the exception of his eyes. He has pale skin, a long squared nose, and thick curly dull, gray indigo hair that covers his eyes. He has a smirk on his lips.
Outfit[]
This costume is in Victorian-era styles, and has Jack wearing tight pale grey suit pants with three silver and green-blue buttons under each knee, and held up by a thin black belt at his waist. He also wears black leather riding boots that are tall enough go past his calves, and a white collared shirt with a silver vest with a shiny vine pattern over it. A black silk cravat is tied around his neck and collar, with a emerald brooch with a silver fastener pinned to it. On his head is a black silk top hat with a dark silver ribbon and bow tied around the base of the brim. It is proportioned more realistically to his head as opposed to the cartoonishly thin and tall top hat Jack usually wears such as in his default appearance. On his right hand is a brown leather glove, with a large silver ring embedded with a large emerald on his thumb.
The most elaborate piece of this costume is the dark green velvet suit coat with lighter green floral embroidery patterned across the entire piece. It has a high collar and six military-style silver buttons in the front clasping the jacket closed. Two large paintbrushes are fastened to his lapel with black clasps, and the bristles are soaked and dripping with bright red paint. A clean white kerchief is poking out of his chest pocket.
Weapon[]
On his left hand is a large glove made of dark metal which is fastened to his wrists with metal bands. At the end of each fingertip is attached different types of long blades and saws, which each have metal jointed rods fastened to green pad above each blade and then connecting to the wrist band.

Bright pink paint drips from him in this costume. The brooch at his collar glows a bright green.

Backdrift series, surprise debut
In the summer event news, "Identity V" announced the arrival of a series of once costumes, and used a piece of floating letter paper as a clue to collect answers from players. For a while, players opened their imaginations and gave their own speculations based on the name of the costume series and the text on the letter paper. A few days later, the answer was announced — the first costume in the Backdrift series belonged to The Ripper!
As one of the first hunters to enter the manor, The Ripper has maintained everlasting popularity. Elegance and brutality have been wonderfully unified in him, which also makes people more curious about why he changed from a well-known man with a promising future. The artist becomes a chaser walking in thick fog? The Backdrift series is to take players back to the key points of his transformation. This performance will be long and full of dangers, but only by going upstream can we have the opportunity to trace our roots. Are you willing to go with The Ripper, embark on this journey without hesitation?
Dual personalities, fierce confrontation
In the Ripper - "Good Child" promotional video released by "Identity V", the shaking pocket watch rotates strangely, elements such as violins, carving knives, and paper fans emerge one by one, and "Jack" appears in the paintings on the wall. After making a strange but familiar appearance, a mysterious hand pressed the button of the pocket watch, time stopped going back, and the story began.
The Ripper - "Good Child" continues his handsome and upright style, with curly hair, green clothes, bow ties, and top hats, creating a gentle, humble and meek temperament. But when you move your eyes to the finger blades of his left hand, you shudder. The feeling will wake you up in an instant, and the red paint slowly left from the paintbrush on the left chest is spreading to the whole body.
The "Bad Child" in his body has never stopped fighting for dominance over his consciousness and body. The long-term struggle has made him tired and his rationality has almost collapsed. He can't control himself and puts on the finger blade, but he still works hard to maintain his dignity as an artist. However, the madness that is about to start can no longer be suppressed by painting. The showdown between "Good Child" and "Bad Child" seems to be about to decide the winner. Guess who is awake now?
Use the blade as a pen to draw masterpieces
The showroom display of The Ripper - "Good Child" makes people feel his pain and struggle even more. On the character showroom interface, he splashed ink freely with the finger blade in his hand and drew a unique aesthetic masterpiece. But soon, the battle between the two personalities began. He covered his head in pain, and seemed to be roaring loudly, trying to kill the "Bad Child". "Getting out of his mind, when he regained his composure, he was surprised to find the sharp finger blade in his hand, and was even more horrified by the hanging painting that appeared behind him. He violently tore off the frame of the painting and threw it to the ground, unable to accept such a future.
During the chase, The Ripper - "Good Child" wandered around the manor, red paint falling in little bits, and his finger blades emitting smoke-like sword energy. Once he got close, it would be difficult to escape.

"Backdrift and return to the original point." If time goes back before accepting the mysterious invitation if they all make different choices, where will destiny lead them?
In the Once series, we hope to show another possibility for all the characters. For "The Ripper", an elegant and brutal hunter, his story starts with his backstory. He was originally a young artist, but he was struggling from the erosion of the "Bad Child", and his life was cut in half by his uncontrollable behavior. "I started to be afraid of sleeping. But now... I wake up from the smell of rust every morning, is there any way to get rid of "him"?"
According to the settings of "The Ripper", "Good Child" is designed as the time that he is still struggling with his another chaotic personality. His decent uniform and a young and handsome face undoubtedly reflect his identity as an elegant young artist. And those knives tied to the fingers, the paint flowing on the body. . . They also embodied the hidden madness and danger of "The Ripper".
Under that seemingly gentle and handsome smile, who knows which "Jack" is awake?
Design Idea Sketch[]
We designed an image of a young Victorian artist around the theme of "Jack" in the past. At this time, "Jack" is still "Good Child", so the overall image is still an ordinary person. We designed him with long, messy hair that covered his face, and he was stained with paint. Through these details, it is shown that the "Bad Child" hidden in his heart is gradually seizing the dominance of the body.
Although the first sketch roughly meets the theme's needs, the character's temperament is not close to that of young talents, and the costume design is not capable enough.
The second version of the concept has improved than the first version, but the temperament is still far from the ideal effect. We chose the third option and adjusted it on its basis.
In the end, we optimized the character's temperament to make it closer to the young "Jack" to enhance the exquisiteness of the costume, and we made the color of the paint more conspicuous to reflect his hidden madness. After refinement, the original design of "Good Child" is complete.

Showroom Interface Design[]
Following the actions of the "Good Child", pink paint occupies the entire screen, and the face of the "Good Child" is visible behind the slowly dropping paint, and he seem to have a smile at the corners of his mouth.
The lights flickered, and there was a sharp pain in the head of the "Good Child" and the confused thoughts occupied his mind, making him struggle with pain. Who will win in the end?
The "Good Child" stroked his blades, trying to erase the stained paint, but the annoying traces grew more and more. . . He fell into depression and trouble again.
The weird portrait appeared behind the "Good Child". He was frightened and angry, and threw it out, after which the familiar headache hit again.
In-game display[]
The pink paint flows slowly down the uniform of the "Good Child" and drips following his movements. At the same time, the blue gemstone symbolizing reason exudes a gleam on his neckline, which symbolized the game of the two personalities in his heart.
