  • It was originally available for purchase from January 16th to February 13th, 2025 on its original release. Between January 16th and January 23rd, a 28% discount was applied to its price.
  • It returned for purchase from February 5th to TBA, 2026, for the occasion of Gardener's Once Costume Winter Memories' release.

Appearance[]

Physical[]

Leo's physical appearance is deeply altered from his usual look, now appearing in a fair skintone and lacking any burns or wounds on his skin. His reddish brown hair is kept in a short haircut, with a thick beard and mustache covering his face. His eyes are small, with bluish-green irises and dense eyebrows, and his nose appears large with a faint blush visible on its tip.

Outfit[]

Leo's head is covered by a large dark blue flat cap, decorated by a yellow and black flanel pattern. A thick red yarn scarf is wrapped around his neck, with a small depiction of Gardener and the words "BY LISA" sewn on one of its ends, in green and yellow threads respectively. He wears an unbuttoned colorful jacket, with white and blue yarn bundles stuffed in its pockets and the logo of "Beck Woollen Mills" visible on the inner side of its collar and on its upper back.

The jacket is assembled from several different fabrics: on his right side, the jacket is composed of blue tissue, with a chevron motif on its front pocket and an argyle pattern on its sleeve, with alternating light and dark brown sections; on his left side, the jacket is made of beige tissue with small golden symbols decorating its surface, a brown front pocket with a houndstooth pattern and a faintly striped green sleeve; finally, the inner surface of the dress is covered by a green and brown plaid pattern, visible on his sleeves and collar.

Beneath the jacket, he wears a white buttoned shirt and a mahogany colored gilet dress on top, with golden buttons engraved with a stylized "B" and a locket hanging from a small chain, which displays two monochrome pictures of Martha Remington and a young Lisa Beck. He dons brown checkered pants, held up by a black belt with a golden engraved buckle, and ornate leather shoes, with dark green short socks beneath.

Weapon[]

Leo's usual weapon is replaced by a large industrial wooden spindle. Both of its flanges are covered by gold metal plating, with green stripes decorating its ends and an ornate floral ring secured on its handle. The spindle's upper half expands into a conical shape, around which white wool thread is wrapped, and the face of its top flange is covered by a circular golden panel, decorated with an engraved edge and a stylized "B."

Special Effects[]

When equipped, faint yellow trails and small paper leaflets containing an advertisement for "Beck Woollen Mills" are generated around Leo, which gently float in the air leaving behind before disappearing. Hell Ember's idling animation when standing still in game will also be replaced by a unique motion where he caresses his scarf. The locket hanging on Leo's jacket also occasionally emits a shining glimmer.

Label[]

As with other ONCE Series Costumes, upon purchasing "Not For Sale" the player will receive a letter in their in-game mail, containing a short paragraph about the costume and an exclusive B-Tier Label. The letter's text is as follows:

To where does time ultimately flow? In the rushing river of time, a small part of who you are will always remain.

Design Idea Plan[5]
For Leo Beck, the turning point in his fate lies in whether he chose to "improve the textile factory" or "take over the Minerva Arms Factory". This reflected Leo's conflict between the two ideals. Undoubtedly, Leo Beck has always been a devoted and altruistic lover, but he was also trapped by the definition of "fatherhood"——he is accustomed to taking on, solving, and interpreting many problems alone, causing the Beck family's relationship dynamic to become strained. Perhaps from a certain point on, the anxiety over the Beck family's business, along with many other issues, thanks to the encouragement of his wife and daughter, became topics that were openly discussed. Though it may have been awkward at the beginning, Leo may have eventually felt the warmth of sharing the burden with his family, and all the tragedies henceforth would not have had the chance to unfold.

In "Not For Sale"'s design, Leo is not a stubborn and silent provider. Instead, the traces of his family are more vivid, and love readily flows due to the mutual giving amongst the family members——Leo's clothing are made from fabric samples - an interesting, experimental sales method from his wife. The fabrics from the textile factory are all marked a scarecrow mark that his daughter likes; a promise of quality to his customers. Leo's neck is also adorned by a carefully knitted scarf by his daughter, and when customer inquire about it, this father, surrounded by love and support, proudly mentions that it is the only one not for sale.

For Leo Beck, the "Not For Sale" item carry more meaning than just a gift from his family. It also represents Leo's acceptance of himself as a "recipient" in family life. When he chooses to expose his vulnerabilities, he comes to understand that love and support can be as solid as this.

Design Idea Sketch[5]
The Backdrift if Hell Ember did not fall into debt and managed his textile factory well.

Due to Leo insisting on producing only the best quality wool fabrics, he qualifies to participate in the local trade fair.

"Visible and tangible products make the best advertisements", at his daughter's suggestion, Leo, as an exhibitor, wears a suit made of his own fabrics with the logo of his textile factory.

He also does not forget to wear a photo box full of family photos. Even though he is very busy, Leo is always thinking of his family.

The overall temperament of Hell Ember in this costume is a hardworking, kind, and a bit awkward middle-aged businessman;

He wears a brand-new woolen suit, carefully arranged to present a clean and tidy appearance. His outfit also contains small details related to his family and business;

Such as promotional materials and a scarf featuring a pattern embroidered by his daughter.

NotForSaleEarlyDesign

The overall shape of the clothing in the first design is more in life with what is required, but the face and scarf need adjustments. We chose to continue adjustments and optimizations based on the second design:

NotForSaleFinalDesign

The second version had three major adjustments:

  1. The head has major adjustments. The face is modified to be more kind and friendly, and his hat and scarf accessories are more stable and in line with the character setting;
  2. The lower body now incorporates the pants from design 1, making the overall look more fitting for a middle-aged businessman;
  3. The scarf was enlarged to make his daughter's embroidery more prominent, making it stand out more clearly;
