"Scrooge" is an A-Tier Costume for Mad Eyes, Burke Lapadura. It was introduced in Season 12 Essence 1, during the 2nd Anniversary Event, Atropos' Ropes. It can today be obtained from Memory Spheres.
In the Chinese version of the game, the Golden Rose Theater essence contents would only be released during the Chinese Season 16 as part of Essence 2.

Burke still has white hair in the same style with mutton chops, but his eyes are visible and he has a white mustache. His prosthetic limbs are golden-bronze with dark red portions.
Outfit[]
He wears a velvet black suit and tailcoat with a flowery pattern, and red lining. His pants are black with gold pinstripes, and over his white collared shirt is a golden vest, and a black bowtie with a red brooch at his neck. At his waist is a small bronze flask in a red case. On his lapel is a gold rose with a black ribbon, and he wears a black half-top hat with a golden band.
The device on his back appears to be a mechanical bronze platform that can raise or lower.

His handheld console on his wrist appears to be a red box containing rolls of tickets. The standalone consoles on the map are small but ornate tables that are red with bronze edges and a golden rose emblem. A melted red candle is on the top of each console.

His walls look like set pieces, with the bottom being mainly red and brown with a cobblestone texture lined with red candles and roses. Hung along the spears of the upper part of the fence is thick rope.

Design Idea Plans
The head and founder of the theater, he wanted to be the center of the stage when he was young, but an accident ruined all his dreams. He once fell in love with the original leading actress of the troupe. On the surface, he is a rich duke who loves charity and plays, but in fact has a strange hobby, like bribing actresses with money; thus he established the Golden Rose Theater - a solid cage built with money.
Design Idea Sketch
As a wealthy Duke with a noble status and a twisted heart, the design should highlight the characteristics of a controlling, powerful and dignified old man.
In the early concepts, there were various problems with the design, such as random details, colors not matching with the theme and being too fancy, and details that didn't match.
After the overhaul, the tailoring, color matching, and details of the character's clothes reveals his powerful identity and background. At the same time, his expression and small spikes are used to imply his actual personality. The design can clearly produce a kind of masked beast temperament.
Model Details Description
- His monocle reveals a kind of shrewdness and meanness unique to the upper class. When he looks at you through the lens, what does he see?
- The brass shackles hanging from his pocket don't match with his elegant attire, showing the director's twisted desire to control. The inner workings of the theater doesn't seem to be as glamorous as it appears on the surface.
- Unlike other aristocrats who opted for fine canes, "Scrooge" held a burning candlestick in his hand, and he carried it around the theater. He is like a jailer guarding his prisoners.
- Clothes made of gold thread and large gemstones show the supreme wealth of the old man, and many actors are willing to step into the golden cage
Showroom Interface Design
"Scrooge" rose from the ground together with his monitor, and the first thing he did after standing up was to light the candle in the candlestick he was holding.
"Scrooge" wields the candlestick in his hand vigorously, it is hard to imagine that such strength could come from an old man.
The monitors circling around "Scrooge" seemed to annoy him, so he smashed the monitor with the candlestick without hesitation, destroying it.
Custom Lobby Model Design
"Scrooge" is always holding his candlestick, and the ruby and golden rose on his chest is emitting a soft light, but it makes his face more gloomy.
Trivia[]
- "Scrooge" is the name of the director of the Golden Rose Theater, the alternate story in the Second Anniversary investigation.
- His name is likely a reference to the main character of the novella "A Christmas Carol", Ebenezer Scrooge. Fittingly, both characters are elderly men motivated by varying degrees of greed. Scrooge is also used to describe someone who is stingy with money.
