Anubis is an A-Tier Costume for Gamekeeper, Bane Perez. It was introduced in Season 4 Essence 2.
Appearance[]
Physical[]
When equipped, Bane's body is covered in short black fur. His usual deer head now resembles a canine, with a long snout, small nose, and pointy ears. He has small white eyes, with golden eyeliner around them. Black braided hair is visible under his headwear, decorated with ornate gold cylinders.
Outfit[]
Bane's head is covered by a large golden headwear, with a red gem embedded on his forehead and large wings on the sides, with blue and red feathers. A white cloth covers the back of his head, with a cyan and gold pattern on it. Around his neck is a gold Usekh neckwear, decorated by many red and blue tiles and a golden Ankh, with a green gem in it. On his back is a long tattered grey cape with many hieroglyphics drawn on it.
Around Bane's waist is a gold ornate belt, with a grey and blue adorned Shendyt skirt under it, while his forearms are protected by golden bracers. On his bracers and belt can be seen blue winged scarabs, symbols of Khepri. He sports golden rings on his fingers and decorated anklets around his ankles.
Weapon[]
Bane's fish skeleton hook is replaced by a black metal Khopesh blade. A red and blue Heka crook is used as the handle, with a metal chain tied to its end.
Special Effects[]
The red, green and blue gems on the costume shine and glow faintly with their respective color, while dust and sand are emitted from his wrists.
Trivia[]
- Anubis is the Egyptian god of the underworld and the dead, judging dead souls by weighing their heart against a feather. This, as well as the costume's other details, are all inspired directly by ancient Egyptian religion.
- Khepri is the scarab god that represented the morning rising Sun, as well as rebirth.
- The Khopesh is a sickle-sword typical to ancient Egyptian fighters. The curve of the blade was supposed to be used to pull away an opponent's shield, or grab their arms.
- The Heka crook used as the weapon handle is often depicted in ancient Egypt alongside the Nekhakha flail, and together symbolize pharaonic authority.
- The Ankh cross is a hieroglyphic used to represent the word "life".
- This is one of a group of Egyptian-themed costumes, along with others like Cursed Pharaoh and Vajytte.
