Atropos' Ropes also known Golden Rose Theater is the Second Anniversary Event for Global Servers. Centered around the parallel universe of Truth & Inference, it revolves around the Season 12 Essence 1 storyline.

This event was exclusive to the Global Servers; see Teahouse Tales for the Chinese Server's Second Anniversary Event.

This event is the first installment of the Truth & Inference Series featuring Mr. Inference as the Narrator/Protagonist of this event.

From a mobile device (Event is not currently working on PC or tablet), go to this website.
Click on Log in, and use your favorite way to log in
Click on "Collect" that will ask you to share to facebook, twitter or line, select one and share it.
It will give you a link to share. Give the link to 5 of your friends, and they need to hit "I want to assist."
When 5 of your friends assist, go back here and Click on "Claim Clues" and also "Claim Inspirations" (if 5 of your friends hit "I want to assist" on the link that you've sent them, it will say "Claim Clues 5/5")
Now click on "Open the Banquet Invitation", which will give you a Lucky Draw Code. Save the code as it will be used for a lottery for skins, money, etc.^[2]

Incidents[]

The Great Theater Director[]

The Golden Rose Theater was founded by the current director. In the beginning, he also wrote the drama. The premiere of Moira's first song <The Coin of Lachesis> was a hit, and the leading actress also became famous. People even call her the name of heroine Lachesis, and the theatre was unstoppable.

Sundowner[]

<The Coin of Lachesis> was performed over and over again. People gradually lost their interest and began to look forward to the Second Episode. However, the theatre director suddenly hit the wall in terms of creating. The other new performances also responded poorly. The theatre soon went into bankruptcy. However, when the rumors of Lachesis preparing to change jobs spread the city, everything in a turning point. The theatre suddenly announced that it was preparing for the final re-arrangement of <The Coin of Lachesis>, then it would end the contract with Lachesis. Lachesis was about to leave France. People flocked for this last show, and a ticket was hard to come by. However, to everyone's surprise, the last performance turned out to be the "last song", Goddess of Destiny's coin turned to the side of the doom, and Lachesis fell to ground and died.

The Not-Innocent Mechanic[]

The police investigation report shows that the reason for the fall of Lachesis was due to the improper maintenance of the protective fence of the lift. The mechanic in charge of the maintenance went to prison. He died because of severe cold illness in the first year of imprisonment. It is said that he had a son who was studying in France and came back to arrange the mechanic's funeral. But no one heard from him since.

Hidden Hatred[]

For some reason, despite the Second Episode being nowhere ready after the accident, the theatre seemed to have financial support and remained in business. The supporting actress in the First Episode, Kroto, was starting to make a name for herself by performing in plays. According to the industry rumours, the director never gave up on the Third Episode which would be a story all about Clotho. This could be the reason why Kroto stayed, in hopes of becoming famous just like Lachesis did. To everyone's surprise, the theatre started to recruit a leading actress with a handsome salary.

Bella Donna! Bella Donna![]

The leading actress who eventually joined the theatre was named Madame Bella. She was french, gorgeous, and extremely talented. But she was also very arrogant and had many odd habits. For instance, she had her trusted maid accompany her daily. She liked meeting powerful people, but her temper fluctuated. Interestingly, considering her personality and style, the new work of the director was not about the thoughtful Clotho, but the Goddess of Destiny instead, which is invariably in charge of the storyline of "Atropos' Ropes". Who knows whether this lady will repeat Lachesis's mistakes?

The event has its own story set as an investigation in a place known as the Golden Rose Theater.

Prologue[]

A mysterious commission letter raised the curtain on the mystery that happened in Golden Rose Theatre. Whom are the characters involved in this macabre story?

Day 1 - Detective Diary:[]

I received a letter of commission from someone with the initials DM. Judging from the content, it appears to be my former comrade in arms. He has returned to his aristocratic life. The Golden Rose Theatre? The leading actress "Madame Bella"? Is our playboy returning to the stage? Now that my ongoing investigation is getting nowhere, I'll treat this as a break and take it on.

Day 2 - An old newspaper reads:[]

The last performance of Lachesis' Coin, with a photo of the theatre's Director, "Scrooge", and one of the theatre's main actors, Kroto.

Day 3 - A piece of gossip with an unknown source:[]

The Golden Rose Theatre houses two silver tongues - the new leading actor, "Ronald of Ness" and the playwright, "Rusty Penpoint".

Day 4 - An aristocratic teen who frequents the Golden Rose Theatre:[]

I've been trying to sneak backstage to see Madame Bella, yet I'd be either shooed off by the Production Manager, "Commander", or blocked by Madame Bella's maid, "Phonograph".

Day 5 - A news reported titled "The Theatre's Heroes Behind the Scene":[]

Included an interview with the theatre's stylist , Golden Scissors, and the make-up artist, Fragrance Queen.

Day 6 - An ex-worker of the Golden Rose Theatre:[]

Despite the reputation of the Golden Rose Theatre, a lot of backstage workers were indolent at their job. Not the bellboy, Jingle Bells, and the stage control, "Smarty Pants", though; they are the most responsible people i've met.

Day 7 - Unreliable information from the butler of a certain theatre:[]

Apart from Madame Bella, their Director also wanted to recruit the Golden Rose Theater's stuntman, Sparrow and the Stand-in, Encore.

Act 1[]

The detective has finally arrived at the renowned Golden Rose Theatre. What macabre story will this investigation unravel?

Act I takes place in the Lobby of the Golden Rose Theater, as the detective we play as tries to get in contact with Madame Bella. He is unable to meet her, but is introduced to all the other cast members and learns more about them.

Conclusion: The answer for the clue conclusion is Kroto, as she is the owner of the red scarf which Bella had discarded.

Act 2[]

The opening performance of Atropos' Ropes began as scheduled. Unbeknownst to all, a tragic incident also raised its curtains...

Act II occurs after the death of lead actress, Madame Bella. The detective can now investigate other rooms including Bella's suite, the Stage, and the Performance Hall. The director instructs Phonograph to clean up the suite so that Kroto can move in, while the other cast members discuss their thoughts and discoveries with the sudden death.

Act 3[]

The final act of the Golden Rose Theater Investigation and Atropos' Ropes is about to be unveiled...

Act III occurs as the investigation into Bella's death continues, and the truth comes out piece by piece. Bella was dead before the performance began, and Kroto had taken her place on stage before the discovery. It is also revealed that Bella was taking a hallucinogen called "Quivering Flower."

After acquiring all clues towards the investigation, you should have all the clues to complete the Investigation 100% and give you the costume Unlock Card. If any part is missing, it may simply require another couple days login.

Epilogue[]

By acquiring the Kroto, "Scrooge", or Ronald of Ness skins, players would receive a letter with extra story in their mail for that character/skin and the event.

When I re-encountered Kroto, she had already left the Golden Rose Theatre and joined a new theatre group. Perhaps time could really mend all wounds. She wasn't reluctant to talk about what happened, so I present her with my many questions. From wheter Lachesis died of murder or accident, to questions on why she didn't push Lady Bella off the platform, she answered without concealment.

"Other than myself, no one understands how much effort I have invested in presenting an opening act worthy of attention and a finale worthy of praise." she said.

Before me, this humble actress rising in prominence sighs as she closes the script. The cover reads - Kroto's Chain.

In the circumstances unrelated to the Golden Rose Theatre case, I find myself reviewing Lachesis' insurance policy through unconventional means. To my surprise, besides "Scrooge", the policy's beneficiaries were Kroto and Lachesis herself.

I accepted Ronald's invitation, and once again, I find myself entering the doors of the Golden Rose Theatre. He awaited me at the lobby, as he did the last time, yet this time, he greeted me as the owner of this theatre. He amassed a vast fortune from god knows where and purchased the deed for this sizable estate. As my detective intuition tingles and a seed of doubt grows in me, the doorbell rang and broke my train of thought.

"Hello, I was introduced by DM to apply for the leading actress' role. My name is -"

During the event, players could obtain Clues, Fragments, Inspiration, and Portraits by completing in-game daily quests.

For the initial log on to the event, players would receive the event exclusive dynamic Graffiti for the Photographer, "Commission Letter".

Awards were earned by participating in the event and collecting "Analysis Points." At each 10 point marker a reward was given.

Trivia[]

Atropos was one of the 3 goddesses of fate and destiny in Greek mythology. The other two being Clotho and Lachesis. Lady Bella represents Atropos, Kroto represents Clotho, and Lachesis represents Lachesis.
The storyline of this event may be a reference to the play An Inspector Calls.
The Chinese version of the Atropos' Ropes essence (Season 12 Essence 1 for Global, Season 17 Essence 2 for CN) received portraits for Ronald of Nice, "Scrooge", and Kroto since it was released much later. As Death Note is banned in China, the Chinese Server got the Atropos' Ropes essence during what on the Global Servers was the Death Note Crossover Essence.
