Robbie White, also known as the Axe Boy, is a Difficulty Level 2 Hunter available for purchase after the completion of the prologue. He is one of 29 playable Hunters added to Identity V.
—Robbie White (Deduction Star 2021) |
Appearance
Robbie is a short, petite, headless child with sickly, bluish skin, and sharp, gnarled tree branches growing and jutting out of his neck.
He wears an old set of blue dungarees with a large hole in the left knee over a black-and-white striped shirt with long sleeves, a matching sock on his left foot, and a bare right foot. A burlap sack with a stitched split resembling a mouth is also tied over where his head should be, with the frayed ends flying and the sack secured with a twine rope. He grasps a relatively large Carpenter's axe with a wooden handle and a black, single-bladed, rusty head wrapped in bloody, white linen bandages in his right hand, nearly concealed by the frayed, flying ends from his sack.
Gameplay
The Axe Boy is a Hunter who can increase his movement speed, decrease Survivor movement speed, and has a ranged attacking potential. He starts each game with multiple pines that spawn automatically around the map, each having a circular area of effect, in which small flames will spawn and circle around, which he can pull towards him in a straight line, damaging any Survivor they touch, or boosting his movement speed if it reaches him. Any Survivor who leaves any circular area of effect without dismantling the pine within will have their movement speed reduced. He is also able to set down roads, which drastically increase his movement speed when he is on said road.

Concept / Design Notes[6]
Design Notes
This character hopes to return to the earlier purer sense of American horror, and minimize the sense of magic, so the original design with branches in the body was scrapped. Since the character is a child, the basic idea was a "candy-begging kid during Halloween". The character does not have a head at the time of setting, so we covered the head with a piece of cloth. In order to be different from other hunters, we tried to combine the European and American style of white cloth ghosts with the Japanese sunny doll/teru teru bozu, using tattered linen and rotten edges to show a pure sense of power, which also complimented the rough axe weapon. The striped clothes and socks imply that the character has been in a prison-like place in the past; the torn socks and another foot show the childish nature of the character.
