Identity V's Early Beta testing encompasses the period between the end of the Dangerous Game project, in late 2016, and the shift in artstyle and development that would characterize the publicly available Late Beta period, starting May 2017. The Early Testing period was characterized by dynamic changes to the art style and several conceptual drafts for characters, gameplay and locations.
Little content actually made it into Late Testing intact, and a significant amount of assets were scrapped and would never be available outside of developer builds. As such, most of the available footage of this period derives from official developer screenshots, artworks and videos. Overall, the appearance and interactions were more macabre and gory, significantly different from today's due to the development team's different artistic direction at the time.
