Identity V Wiki

Borrowed Time is a passive trait that can be equipped to Survivors from the Persona Web. It is the final trait available on the Eastern line.

To what end will the last gleam of hope lead?

Gameplay[]

Description[]

Health fully recovers and dash speed is increased by 50% for 5 seconds when the exit gate is activated.

Appearance[]

When the last cipher is popped, the entire survivor team can each have their injury instantly healed, or go from downed to injured.

Uses[]

Because this trait exists, it has become common to wait to finish the final cipher.

  • This trait is useful to any survivor, and is most effective when at least one team member is injured or downed near the end. It will not apply to chaired survivors.
  • This trait should be carried by everyone. Once you are out of the lowest rank tiers, it is basically expected by all that you carry borrowed time, as it is a key part of game-play.

Trivia[]

  • This is the most common Persona trait that survivors use, making it common practice to "prime" the final cipher and not complete it until someone is hit or downed. However, it should be noted that Bots do not carry any persona build at all, making priming the final cipher useless in a bot match.
    • As it is so common, almost everyone is assumed to have it.
    • Despite not having any persona traits themselves Bots usually still wai to prime the cipher when a player is downed regardless, making it one of the only (if not the only one) persona trait that bots are programmed to follow up.
  • Like other Traits in Identity V, this has a similar functionality to a Perk from Dead by Daylight, namely Adrenaline. The Perk also heals one Health State and grants a speed boost of 50% to movement speed when the Exit Gates are activated.
    • Ironically, a Perk from Dead by Daylight also shares the name Borrowed Time. However, it functions completely differently.
