Little is known about Camilla. She was one of the students at the same women's college in New York State that Wendy was enrolled in. At some point, the two became close and became research partners, evident by the photo of her researching their findings. Despite the struggles the two faced with showing their research to the world, Wendy still persevered, but for some unknown circumstances, Camilla gave up, and sent a letter to Wendy that she was abandoning her academic career for now, and hoped Wendy could continue to move forward in her research, regardless if she was going to do it alone.

- Implied by Wendy's Deduction 6: Reversion's quote "Under unstable conditions, reactions can break down, reversing into their original forms.", Camilla may have been expected to get married, which might've been why she had to abandon her academic career.
- Judging by Camilla saying she was abandoning her career for now, it might mean she hoped to return again at some point, possibly continuing to work with Wendy as well.
