Dolores Whyte or Dolores White is Robbie Whyte's older sister, who went to White Sand Street Orphanage with him.
Appearance[]
Dolores appears as a young girl with short pigtails. Her right arm is missing.
Compiled Overview[]
Dolores was very close with both her parents and her little brother [2] and they seemed to have been of at least small fortune/wealth, being able to afford a family doctor and decent education for Dolores at a young age. [3]
Dolores was placed in the White Sand Street Orphanage with Robbie after their parents died and was forced to beg on the street. After the church took over the orphanage, the children weren't forced to work, and Dolores acted optimistic, hoping that they would be treated better comparing to the previous orphanage owner. However, she was also suspicious of medical tools that the staff brought in, recognizing them thanks to her family's doctor.[4] She would secretly either dump Robbie's medicine out of the window beneath the juniper tree, or would drink/eat her brother's portion herself when no one was looking. [5]
Robbie would repeatedly try to sneak into Dolores' room after curfew through the window, asking her to tell him the tale of Juniper tree. However, one night, the amount of medicine she drank finally took a toll on her, Dolores started to shriek and could not recognize her own brother, so the staff forcefully took her away. Worrying about his sister, Robbie sneaked through the window once more, but the screws of the window were loose, and he was decapitated by the fallen window frame.[6]
Either Dolores blamed herself for not having fixed the window sooner[7] or it was another, unnamed, orphan who the night before pried the window open.[4]
In Axe Boy's 2023 Letter she is confirmed to have gone on a rampage, causing multiple casualties in White Sand Street Asylum, gaining attention from the news and the locals. In Axe Boy's 2022 Letter she states she wanted to do something for him before they meet again, which might be connected to her acting out after his death.
Alternate Theories and Conclusions[]
- In Robbie's deductions and the 2020 Christmas Event, it is suggested that Dolores had lost one or both of her hands.
- She is depicted with only her left arm intact within official lore-related artworks.
- Robbie's 2nd Deduction Quest implies that someone hurt her, causing her to have lost her hand.
- This is also implied in Robbie's 2025 Letter, where Ernest mentions: "When she first entered the orphanage, she looked weary and frightened, but unlike now, she was whole, healthy even!"
- It has been further theorized that Kreacher Pierson was the reason why Dolores lost her limb. It has been implied in Kreacher's deductions that Kreacher has removed body parts from some orphans in order to make them more profitable.[8]
- It is theorized that Dolores Whyte might be a future identity switch for Axe Boy under the "Identity Switch" mechanic.
- Dolores is mentioned to be carrying an axe, likely the same one Robbie is seen using.
- In Robbie's Character Day Furniture, the shadow behind him was in the form of Dolores. With most other characters' furniture having shadows showing either themselves or their switches, it has been speculated that this is a hint towards her being his switch.
