Dormant Koi is a Reoccurring Time-Limited A-Tier Costume for the Mechanic, Tracy Reznik. It was introduced to the Illusion Hall for the Call of the Abyss V tournament to celebrate the winners of Call of the Abyss IV, GG.
Availability[]
As it is not a true Limited Costume (which are denoted by the "limited" tag found in the top right of certain card icons), it can return to the Illusion Hall shop multiple times. It frequently returns with its pairing Costume Visitor From Shu.
- It was originally available for purchase March 3rd to March 31st 2022 for celebrating the winners of Call of the Abyss IV.
- It was available for purchase again from April 27th to May 17th, 2023 during the Call of the Abyss VI Finals.
- It returned for purchase from April 30th to May 22nd, 2024 during the Call of the Abyss VII Finals.
- It returned for purchase from April 30th to May 21st, 2025 during the Call of the Abyss VIII Finals.

Physical[]
Tracy now has fairer skin, neater dark brown hair in two buns, jade green eyes crosstiched with black thread, and pale red blush. She also wears red lipstick.
Outfit[]
Tracy dons a traditional white Chinese cheongsam with a high mandarin collar, black pankous, gold embroidery depicting floating clouds, and puffy elbow-length sleeves. A red sash is tied around her waist, secured by a braided red cord with two white fluffy tassels and adorned with a tiny panda. She wears grey wrist wraps lined with red, white wushu pants with side slits and grey embroidery, and white cloth shoes embroidered with gold clouds. A pair of gold-rimmed goggles sit on her head, and her buns are covered with gold embroidered cloth and secured with red cord with dangling tassels.

Tracy's Controller is now a flat black disk with a grey screen and a black indicator needle, with glowing green and red buttons as well as two antennae sticking out of either side, with one glowing purple and the other glowing gold.

Tailor-made, unique skills reproduced
In terms of costume style, both the Mechanic - Dormant Koi and Guard 26 - Visitor From Shu adopted elements with local characteristics. Shu embroidery, pandas, hot pot, etc. are in line with Chengdu, where the GG team is located.
Great accumulation leads to a brilliant career
Mechanic - Dormant Koi is wearing a modified plain cheongsam embroidered with delicate auspicious cloud patterns, which looks even more heroic after incorporating elements of Kung Fu costumes; the plain embroidered shoes on her feet echo the bun-shaped headdress, showing a clever and lively temperament without losing her well-behaved temperament; a cute panda is tied around her waist, and its furry touch makes people love it; the remote control in her hand has become a portable rouge box, with the GG team's logo on the front, and a G pattern is also embroidered on the waist of the cheongsam. This is an honor exclusive to the champion, and it is also the endless expectation of continuing to fight!

Design Idea Plans[]
The theme for the COAIV championship costumes were based on the wishes from the GG team: since the team is from Sichuan, China, they wanted the costumes to have the characteristics of Sichuan. After a series of selection and evaluation of the theme elements, we decided to use pandas and Shu embroidery as the main thematic elements, and to use the red and white color scheme of the team's logo as the main color. Considering the compatibility of the of the English logo and the costume theme, we decided that incorporating the team's logo into the costume would have a more natural design. This resulted in "Dormant Koi" and "Visitor from Shu".
The kung fu girl from Shu and the cute and greedy panda chef, dressed in Shu embroidery and with Shu characteristics, set off for Hangzou to attend a gourmet convention there. The two of them travel together, looking for delicious food and beautiful scenery along the way, laughing and playing together. The "Visitor from Shu" naturally refers to the guest who comes from Shu, never forgetting his original intention and always staying the same; the "Dormant Koi" refers to the talent of Shu brocade, and the legend of the koi fish swimming upstream and leaping through the dragon gate, eventually flying to the top of the sky.
Design Idea Sketches[]
In the earliest version of the design, we wanted to create a costume based on Chinese fashion. However, after the sketches were made, we felt that using Chinese fashion as the base was not compatible with the game's existing costume style and the background story, and would not fit into the game. Therefore, the requirements had to be modified.
The game is based from the 19th century to the early 20th century, close to the late Qing dynasty and early Civil War period in China. After referencing female fashion from that time period, we decided to start with cheongsam and exercise uniforms, adding rational modern tailoring, so that the costume is not obtrusive to the background of the game's time period.
The second version of the design uses martial arts costumes as a starting point, the edges are modified to incorporate sleeves and pants to be more in line with the time period, emphasizing the image of a kung fu girl. In the choice of main colors, we stayed with the team's color scheme of red and white, and the logo was more reasonably incorporated into the design.
In the subsequent refinement, we improved the details of the costume and added darker patterns, and purple and gold embroidery to the dress. Without ruining the overall effect, the design was enriched and the final design was completed.
Costume Details[]
- The logo of the COAIV champion team GG is embroidered by the waist of the cheongsam, and the Shu embroidery technique used for the team's logo and the style of the cheongsam are combined to compliment each other.
- The cheongsam is decorated with golden clouds stitched by Shu embroidery and embellished with additional purple embroidery and a darker background pattern, which is a characteristic of Sichuan.
- A panda doll is tied by her waist with a red belt, and the fluffy panda is tilting its head and staring forward with a dumb, innocent expression.

Mechanic - Dormant Koi took out a "bamboo shoot" and thew it at Guard 26 - Visitor from Shu, which exploded like a bomb, causing her to cover her mouth and snicker.
With the remote control in her hand, Mechanic - Dormant Koi walked around in a circle. The front end flashed with a purple light, looking for any suspicious objects nearby.
Mechanic - Dormant Koi dug out a "bamboo shoot" from under her feet, and before she could take a closer note, it suddenly exploded, catching her off guard.
Special Effects[]
Mechanic - Dormant Koi is dressed in a red and white cheongsam embellished with gold embroidery, and the red belt tied around her waist sways slightly, showing her valiant temperament. She is holding a remote controller in her hand, looking down at carefully operating it, absorbed in her work.
