The Dungeon, also known and commonly referred to as the Hatch or the Cellar. It is one of the three potential ways for the Survivors to escape, with the others being the Exit Gate or if the hunter surrenders.
Escaping through a Dungeon is one of the condition for the survivors to get a win (if 3 or more survivors escape) or a draw (if 2 survivors escape) from the game.
Appearance[]
The dungeon is a four-sided. There will be a hatch door on the ground, and the outer part is gray wood. The main surface in the middle is red.
Overview[]
Gameplay[]
There are multiple fixed positions on each map where the dungeon may spawn. When the dungeon appears, there will be a prompt: "Dungeon revealed" on the top middle of the screen. After that, the player or their teammate (Eliminated or not) can look for it by themselves. There is an in game hint that tells the player to follow the sound of the wind in order to find where the dungeon is hidden.
The Dungeon will automatically open when there's only one living Survivor left on the map (all the other Survivors who have escaped, eliminated from the match or disconnected) and at least 2 Cipher Machines have been fully decoded.
The dungeon will refresh for every 3 minutes once it's opened, if the survivor took too long to find a dungeon, the notification "The dungeon location will be changed within 30 seconds" will be shown on the screen to notify both the Survivor and the Hunter. After 30 seconds has pass, the dungeon will disappear and switched to a new location. This is to prevent a stalemate between a survivor and the hunter if the hunter camps at the dungeon with an injured survivor.
However, in Duo Hunters mode, when 4 Survivors are remaining or when the last Cipher Machine is being primed, Survivors may also dial the Random Phone Both and purchase a crowbar to open dungeons.
Spawn[]
The Dungeon will spawn in a random, predetermined location on the Map at the very start of the match. It will remain invisible to the Survivors and the Hunter until certain requirements are met, which will make it visible to everyone and thus interactable.
