Ella Valden was the younger sister of Edgar Valden, the Painter.
Compiled Overview[]
Ella Valden was Edgar's beloved younger sister, two years younger than him. At age 5, she fell ill and Edgar painted a portrait to celebrate her birthday and wish her a quick recovery.[1]
She died a year later on Edgar's 8th birthday. Their father had promised to play a game with Ella but ignored her in favor of Edgar's birthday celebration. She waited in the sweltering painting room for her father to come find her, and likely died due to heatstroke or suffocation.[2]
Trivia[]
- In Edgar's original, no-longer-canon backstory from the original character design competition, he had a younger sister named Maple[3] who did not pass away at a young age like Ella, instead being the one to support him and deliver the manor's invitation to Edgar. However, it is also apparent that the two are different characters in concept, as Ella is two years younger than Edgar but Maple is younger by seven.[source needed]
