Energy Charge is an External Trait that belongs to the Hunter "Undead". As an external trait, it is a passive ability that the character starts every game with.
Trait Details[]
Description[]
Percy can use this ability to increase his energy load. When the energy reaches 50, Percy will enter an Energy Surge state during which his regular attack won't be interrupted by Survivors and he can shatter pallets which have been pulled down, his ability will also be enhanced. When the energy reaches 100, Percy will go inter overload during which his movement speed is decreased by 8% and he can't use any abilities for 14 seconds.
Gameplay[]
Percy has a meter at the bottom of the screen that shows his Energy level from 0 to 100. Energy is gained after using an ability. The meter will deplete at a rate of 10 Energy per second after 10 seconds without using an ability.
Between 50 and 99 Energy, Percy enters Energy Surge. In this state, all Control Effects will be completely nullified while Percy is in an attack animation or ability animation, Percy's basic attacks will break dropped Pallets, and Kinetic Dash Hit and Charged Strike are improved.
Upon reaching 100 Energy, Percy will Overload. His movement speed will be reduced to 4.35 m/sec, and he is unable to use any abilities during the period. Once the Overload ends, Percy will be set back to 0 Energy.
At full Presence, Percy unlocks Energy Conversion. This ability increases or decreases Energy Load by 50 depending on his current Energy, allowing him to quickly enter Energy Surge or prevent Overload.

Hunter tips
- Energy Surge is Percy's greatest asset, negating several Survivor abilities and shifting the dynamics of pallet mind games in his favor.
- Percy's charged attack animation lasts about 2 seconds. Although this move is heavily telegraphed, this is a lot of immunity to have on hand.
- This attack has slightly longer recovery, so you can easily be stunned if you end up stopping inside a pallet.
- Painter's Artistic Sensitivity trap will be instantly wasted if you enter its radius while stun-immune.
- You cannot pass through Priestess's Holy Key portals while stun-immune.
- Percy will not deal damage when basic attacking Professor during Scale Hardening, but he will neither be knocked back & stunned nor will he enter attack recovery.
- Becoming stun-immune will break the link of Prospector's Attract & Repel, but Percy will still have the Magnet on him, so he can still be affected while in a recovery animation.
- Percy's charged attack animation lasts about 2 seconds. Although this move is heavily telegraphed, this is a lot of immunity to have on hand.
- Stay below 50 Energy while dashing to move around the map, but try to reach 50 Energy upon arrival to chase effectively.
- You can dash in place or use Charged Strike to delay the meter from draining.
- Breaking pallets with your attack is faster than the usual method and does not lock the camera, which allows you to better track escaping Survivors.
- It can be difficult to land Terror Shock attacks on Survivors as they vault a pallet, as you may break the pallet instead. Position carefully or use a dash attack instead.
- Overload disables not only your main abilities for its duration, but also your Active Traits. Moreover, cooldown for every ability will be paused, so you will not recover charges of Kinetic Dash Hit, and your basic attacks will not break Pallets. Keeping Energy at around 60 to 75 allows you to chase effectively without crippling yourself.
- Consider carefully whether it is worth using an ability if it would Overload you. It can still be worthwhile if that ability downs a Survivor.
- If you do Overload, the downtime can be used to break pallets normally, block Windows by vaulting with Confined Space, or encourage Survivors to drop Pallets, which makes that area worse for later kiting.
Survivor tips
- Percy is still vulnerable while below 50 Energy or outside animations that grant immunity. Watch for the electric effect on his hands and sword, and save skills for when he is walking or in attack recovery.
- Choose your kiting area carefully. Sharp corners and high walls with several windows can be difficult for Percy to navigate, and he may be forced to change target if you can loop without transitioning.
- If Percy's abilities are interrupted (only possible while he is below 50 Energy), he will not gain Energy for that use.
Appearance[]
During Energy Surge, blue electricity arcs along Percy's hands and along the length of his sword. When Overloaded, the electricity additionally turns pink and spreads up his arms, which occasionally give off pink sparks.
Accessory Changes[]
A-Tier[]
- Incinerator - Surged state appears as flames engulfing Percy's arms. Overloaded state appears as black smoke.
