Entomology is an External Trait that belongs to the Entomologist. As an external trait, it is a passive ability that the character starts the game with.

Description

The Entomologist carries a net that can assemble a swarm of insects to propel other Survivors forward.
Holding the Button will gather the swarm around her and make it move with her.
The swarm will form a barrier against some abilities so that Hunters passing through it will be disrupted and their movement speed will be reduced by 85%. Survivors won't be affected.
Hunters can disperse the swarm of insects by hitting it twice (without triggering any recovery action after hit).

• Depletion when a Swarm Of Insects is attacked: 35%
• Cooldown for switch: 3 second(s)
• Cooldown for dispersing Swarm Of Insects: 15 second(s)

Other Details

• Hunter's default attacks will always prioritize hitting Entomologist instead of her swarm of bees if the Entomologist is close to her swarm.
• Entomologist will not leave footprints while riding on the swarm.
• The Swarm Of Insects can block and protect the Entomologist from some of the hunters' alternate attacks such as:
  • Smiley Face's Rocket Dash
  • Ripper's Freezing Fog
  • Soul Weaver's Spinning
  • Axe Boy's Dispel Souls
• The Entomologist can control her swarm while incapacitated or while placed on a Rocket Chair.

Trivia

• Originally, when the Swarm of Insects was hit, players were able to gather the swarm of bees around the Entomologist, which would reset the amount of hits needed to disperse the swarm. This was removed later on.
• Originally, when a Swarm of Insects propelled a Survivor, the Survivor would move as if they were interacting with a Pet before the November 25th, 2021 maintenance.
