Eternal Aurora is a Reoccurring Time-Limited S-Tier Costume for the Geisha, Michiko. It was introduced as part of the Call of the Abyss V Abyss Treasure (Season 19 Essence 2).
Availability[]
As it is not a true Limited Costume[1] (which are denoted by the "limited" tag found in the top right of certain card icons), it has returned in the Call of the Abyss V Abyss Treasure, along with the other costumes, several times.
- It was originally available from December 30th, 2021 to February 17th, 2022 during Call of the Abyss V Qualification (Season 19 Essence 2).
- It returned on January 5th, 2023 to February 2nd, 2023 during Call of the Abyss VI Qualification (Season 24).
- It returned on January 1st, 2024 to January 24th, 2024 during the Call of the Abyss VII Event (Season 30).

Physical[]
Michiko has a bigger body proportion than her original skin, with a pale peach complexion. Her face has its cheeks and chin refined, with a tall and pointy nose. Her lips are painted in soft pink, and her cheeks are faintly brushed with a bit of violet color. She has robotic eyes that are cyan in color with grey pupils in both of her eyes. Some highlighted lines can also be seen on her face which resembles the face plates. She also has long sharp pointy nails painted in heavy pink on both of her hands.

Michiko’s “hair” is styled into a goldish bun with many pearl and diamond jewelries donned there, and attached to her “hair” bun and the accessories is a semicircular metal crown with five antennas pinned to the crown are separated evenly, and on each gap between the two antennas on the semicircle, four diamonds are also stitched to the crown on each side. She also wears diamond earrings shining brightly and multiple pearl necklaces.
Michiko’s outfit is a unique gown. Her sequin is a long dress in multiple hologram rainbow silky fabrics covering from her chests down to her kneecaps, with two sides of her abdomen covered by a string of pearls attached to the dress on each of the side. In the middle of the top of her sequin, there is also a big diamond pin resembling a soft purple color, with a bundle of hologram ribbons gently flow to the beneath. The gown’s bottom is made of multiple of fur layers, with the upper one has a soft brown sugar color, while the two downer ones are fully in white. Also attached to the back of the hologram top is a large coat of fur split into half that bears a rather softer color than the upper fur of her bottom gown. On her elbows, she attires a large boa made of whiteish fur accompanied by another golden-brown shawl shredded into several strings down to the bottom of each side of it.

Michiko’s fan bears a strong resemblance to the 18th century European fan in golden color with a bunch of feathers on each rib. On each of her fan’s sticks there are carved patterns resembling technological wires. The fan also has fur attached to its head; the blade stitched to the fan’s guard is a sharped pointy dagger in gold. The fan’s charm resembles a metal key pinned to the fan’s rivet.
Special Effects[]
Multiple rectangular hologram particles and shiny white flecks hovering around Michiko and left behind when she is moving. Her earrings are also giving off a sparkling halo, with her crown, head accessories and the centerpiece diamond on her dress also share the same effect. Her eyes can as well be seen shining brightly.
Prajna Form[]

Michiko’s overall body shape and face size still remain as the contrastive form. However, she now exposes the inside skin layer of hers. The layer is greyish metallic with multiple metabolic screws joining her hands, elbows and shoulders. The upper half of her body is now exposed, with her abdomen having the metal covering it completely removed, showing a chunk of plastic filled with neonic purple liquid as her energy core (Color Out of Space). The Beauty Form’s head plates are almost completely open, with only the left side of the face and the right side’s cheek still stay, and the rest of her head including the top, the back and the forehead, the upper right, and the chin exposed and leaving a shiny grey metallic complexion. The head plates are shaped into three large circles rotating around the head and covering the back, a medium-sized circle around the right cheek and two smaller circles around each side of the chin, joining together with multiple secured screws. Her eyes now change from cyan to pinkish purple, with her right eye fully exposed and shining brightly. From her head’s back are five Color Out of Space in the form of hologram neonic purple liquified tentacles.
Outfit[]
The sequin now completely disappears, leaving behind an exposed robotic figure. The gown and the boa are completely tattered and worn out. The bottom gown is a tattered shinier darkish sugar brown in color with glitters on the attire, and the fur at the bottom is shredded and a darkish violet in hue. The boa on her elbows also share the same appearance, and the shawl also shares the same color as the gown. From the bottom of her gown are multiple broken black wires stretching out from it.
Weapon[]
Michiko’s fan still stays completely the same as the former, but only the fur on the fan’s head is now worn out and dyed in a darkish violet in color.
Special Effects[]
Michiko doesn't have the particles and sparkling halo effect on jewelry like the former form. However, small darkish purple flecks are hovering around her and also left behind when she moves. The liquid inside her hair bundle and abdomen can be seen motioning inside and giving off a bright neonic effect.

In the brightly lit Metropolis, there is no shortage of various performances, but Geisha - Eternal Aurora is always the most dazzling protagonist. She is beautiful on stage, with exquisite makeup and gorgeous attire that instantly attracts the attention of all audiences. The unique costume reflects the blurred colors of the aurora, which complements her stunning performance. The golden skirt and shawl are matched with soft and comfortable fluff, creating a magnificent and noble temperament. The glorious and prosperous Metropolis is full of endless feasting and feasting. The core elements of this "Call of the Abyss" story are "Metropolis" + "Colour Out of Space" + Media War:
The classic film "Metropolis" presents the artist's vision of the future society in the early 20th century. The story contains many unique and avant-garde technological designs, which triggered a subsequent wave of retro technology. "Colour Out of Space" is a very visually innovative image in Lovecraft's works, and has a completely different charm from other Cthulhu monsters.
In order to present a more interesting conflict, this theme uses the concept of "media war": under the joyful singing and dancing, the undercurrent is surging. If both sides want to compete for people's hearts and minds, they must use offensive and defensive tactics in the media and public opinion. This is more creative and more challenging than the common battle themes in many stories.
Design Idea Plans[]
"Eternal Aurora" played by Geisha is a fashion superstar in the eyes of the public, and secretly controls the media channels. Therefore, the concept design should show the magnificence of entertainment stars on one side, and the weird power of media queen on the other.
In the image design, the two are combined into a reasonable whole in the form of a mechanical singer. In the plot, the dual identity of "Eternal Aurora" is also an important dramatic conflict. In addition, chose art-deco elements and ceramic skin textures to present the combination of gorgeous costume and retro technology in the Metropolis.
Design Idea Sketches[]
The theme of this costume series is the queen who controls the Metropolitan media. Her body and face have traces of mechanical transformation, and she is controlled by a mysterious being - Color Out of Space. Geisha - Eternal Aurora is set as the Queen of the Metropolis, which needs to reflect the era story of the Metropolitan era in terms of temperament, costume design, body structure mechanization, and face.
The early sketches were too conservative in expression, and lacked the gorgeous feeling of the media Queen in demand. The style lacked the exaggeration of top fashion, and the overall color system also wanted to be brighter. However, the three sketches now are too dark and depressing, not enough highlights for an entertainment star and the beautiful performance of the singer. Therefore, in the final draft, the gorgeousness and brightness of the clothing are emphasized, and more advanced materials such as fur, sequins, and silk are used for clothing materials. In terms of temperament, it also reflects the performance of a diva Queen.
In the later stage, the face was drawn and optimized, and the face shape and eyes were adjusted to make it more beautiful. Prajna Form was also designed based on the final Beauty Phase sketch. This time, it adopts a bolder, stronger mechanical structure, a transparent and visible mechanical core on the abdomen, and an open mechanical design of the head to make the character more assertive and authoritative, the hair bundle at the back is designed as the energy beam of the brain interface, which enhances the visual center of the entire character, and the more cool and intense performance also reflects the strong desire for expression of the in-demand singer Queen.

- The costume is based on both the Female Lead and the Secondary Antagonist portrayed by the same actress Brigitte Helm from Metropolis.
- The Beauty Form is based on the real Maria or alternatively Machine Man or the fake Maria in human guise.
- The Prajna Form is based on Machine Man or the fake Maria.
- Additionally, the Prajna Form of the costume is also based on Colour Out of Space, the main antagonist of the 1927 science fiction/horror short story The Colour Out of Space by American writer H.P. Lovecraft.
- The description is a reference to the short story, particularly the line "a beautiful sight for the victims to behold before they die of cold." This is similar to how Colour Out of Space is depicted to be beautiful, before organisms around it will be slowly mutated and die.
- "Color Out of Space" is also the name of the fourth stage of Call of the Abyss V.
