Florian Brand, also known as the Fire Investigator, is a Contain/Assist Type and Difficulty 1.5 Survivor available for purchase after completion of the prologue. He is one of 50 playable Survivors added to Identity V.

Appearance
Florian is a slender doll with fair skin and a single, yellowish-olive button for his left eye, with white thread stitched into a triangular chevron that resembles a wink. His whitish-blond hair is ruffled and tousled, with some messy bangs obscuring his right eye, which is actually missing and misplaced. His mouth is split in a wide smile that reveals his teeth, with slightly accentuated canines resembling fangs. The right side of his face is wrapped up using some white linen bandages, with one single strap secured around his left cheek as well. He has stuffing coming out of his left shoulder.
He wears a set of firefighter bunker gear, including a turnout coat with four metal cloak clasps down the middle and reaching just above his knees, with reflective strips on the collar and split coattails, dark blue turnout trousers with the bell bottoms a stained white with reflective strips, and black leather work boots. The coat hems are held together with haphazard, dark grey stitches. A small, red-and-white badge is pinned to the left side of his chest, and a black firefighter's helmet with a wide brim and a red flame motif patterned on the metal shield patch sits on his head. He shoulders a square canister of grimy red metal with a flame motif stamped into the front, secured to his back with two grey shoulder straps and a matching belt with a metal buckle. His missing right button eye is seen sewn onto the right strap. Tears are visible in his left limb, showing cotton stuffing. He holds a metal inflator gun in his gloved right hand, which is connected to his canister via a black accordion hose.
Gameplay
The Fire Investigator is a contain/assist-type Survivor who can deploy a maximum of two inflatable airbags at a time. The airbags take up a large amount of space, which is useful for blockading narrow passages to prevent the Hunter from closing in. He and his teammates can bounce off the sides of an airbag to propel themselves in a chosen direction, and deflate them as they please. The Fire Investigator himself gains a temporary speed boost after propelling off of an airbag, and can propel off them more frequently than others. The Fire Investigator can then retrieve deflated airbags to reuse. However, the airbags can be permanently broken by the Hunter if they perform a charged swing at them. He has slightly above average interaction speed and slightly below average decoding speed, but can increase his decoding speed to slightly above average after restraining the Hunters for a time.

The flame once devoured his beautiful life, but it also made him remember the warmth in the heat - the deep love from his parents. This warmth was like being engraved in his soul, pushing him forward. When the fire happened again, at that moment, he made his choice without hesitation.
The simple dark blue work clothes are covered with large and small damages. Countless rescues and subsequent investigations in fire scenes have caused part of the paint to be worn and faded, but his determination is still like the blazing fire on the metal badge, fiery and fearless.
Wearing a metal fire helmet, the sturdy brim helps him withstand the dangers of the fire. His curly off-white hair is casual and unruly. Even if one eye is wrapped with thick gauze, it cannot hide the warm and bright smile on his face.

- Fire Investigator's first name, Florian, may be a reference to Saint Florian, who is notably the patron saint of firefighters, among other professions and locations.
- Fire Investigator's last name, Brand, may be taken from the German word for conflagration but also has English, Scottish, Scandinavian, and Dutch origins. In Dutch, the direct translation for the word Brand is "fire".
