Design Notes[2][]
Design Idea Plans[3]
For her shop release package's backstory, Peddler is a domestic service mechanical doll that specializes in infant care. In the past, she strictly followed her programmed instructions, taking care of the house's child day in and day out. Until, one day, an unknown virus invaded her brain. She began to care about her clothing's appearance, deliberate the relationship between self and freedom, and even gave herself a more human-like name—Symia. However, to humans, these behaviours were utterly bizarre and uncontrollable—promising danger like a ticking time bomb. Just as her owner was about to send her to the repair center, a fire changed everything...
Only ruins and ashes were left of the once-peaceful home. Rather than choosing to pursue freedom or to fulfill her duties, Symia chose a third path—she would use her own unique love to protect her only little master.
Based on this character setting, we decided to make the theme steampunk, combining opulence and vintage elements in the costume's design. First, we used mechanical gears as the main focus for this costume to show her identity as a mechanical doll. We also incorporated an intricate and luxurious layered skirt and a maidservant's bonnet to display her elegance. We used roses, symbolizing "love", as the main adornment on her clothes and the items she holds.
Additionally, to emphasize the story element of her having saved the child from the fire, we deliberately removed the 'skin' from her design, leaving only her mechanical body that survived the flames. After awakening the emotion of "love," Symia grows flesh and sinew, implying that she has transformed from a mechanical doll into a "mother".
Despite this, Symia is still composed of precisely built mechanical parts. Algorithms and programs still control her every word and action. She cannot distinguish between life and death, and at times inadvertently exposes her cruel and cold nature as a machine. Thus, she goes to great effort to hide her harsh side with a mask.
Now, as she had wished, Symia can love the little master in the cradle she carries with great devotion and passion. But she is still uncertain whether this seemingly free love is yet another unsolvable program imprisoning her.
Design Idea Sketch[3]
This costume's theme is in the image of a luxurious, vintage steampunk mechanical maid. We hoped to highlight her character's wickedness, love, and grandeur.

First draft: Based on her backstory, the design focuses on the contrast between love and evil in her character. Her enamel facial mask can open to reveal a second face, reflecting her two personalities. The circular ornament around her neck, the gears in her abdomen, and the flowing blackish purple liquid also align with her experiences and the setting as a mechanical doll. Her skeletal hands and the metal rib cage adorning her waist also showcase her more sinister side.

Model Details Description

- The pure white maid's hat is like a blooming flower, the broken metal pipe is like a flying branch, her mask engraved with a perfect smile has cracked, and the truth and self mixed in the black oil are flowing down from the cracks.
- Gorgeous roses grew on her elegant skirt, huge gears slowly rotated in her hollow abdominal cavity, and oil continuously leaked out from her broken mechanical limbs, staining the delicate petals.
- Although the arms have been worn out by wind and rain, the basket under her arms is always like a gentle harbor, carefully protecting the baby inside and the "love" engraved in her soul.
Showroom Interface Design
The virus of freedom has tampered with the command called love, and she still carries out her duties faithfully.

In the gray memory, she could only wander on the edge of this home, and a fire burned everything, but also gave her everything - the "love" that was held tightly in her arms and would never leave her again.

She always looked at her face carefully, for fear of disturbing the baby in the basket, but no matter how exquisite the mask was, it could not suppress the budding of her self. The bird that she gently teased in the last second might disappear in her palm in the next.
In-Game Display

The oil overflowing from the abdominal cavity made the layered skirt heavy, and the rose in her hand dropped petals from time to time, as if this mechanical body was finally blooming with a strange vitality.
