Holy Key is an External Trait that belongs to the Priestess, Fiona Gilman. This trait starts the Priestess with a Holy Key tool every game.

Description[]

The Priestess carries the Holy Key around and can choose to generate either a Straight Passage or an Ultra-Long Passage. Both passages created will not lead to contaminated earth or areas, and Hunters can destroy passages.

Straight Passage
Both Survivors and Hunters can pass through straight passages. Passages entered by Hunters will be destroyed after they squeeze through, and the Hunter will be stunned for a short period. The stun duration increases with the passage's length, from 1.7 seconds up to 3.1 seconds.

Ultra-Long Passage
Survivors entering the portal will be quickly transported to the other side after a few seconds. A residual image of Survivors that use the Ultra-Long Passage will remain at the entrance of the passage when using it. The time they remain is determined by the length of the portal.
Hunters can attack these images. When the images are attacked, the damage and special effects inflicted are transferred to the Survivor (with some delay), and the Survivor becomes visible for 10s.
Hunters cannot pass through the Ultra-Long Passage.

How to Use
Tapping the Holy Key skill button will create a Straight Passage to the selected location.
Tapping the Special Holy Key skill button will activate the Observe Call mode and send out a call to a selected teammate.
Long pressing the Special Holy Key skill button will activate the Direct Call mode and send a call to all teammates.
When a teammate answers the call, the Priestess will create an Ultra-long Passage between the two of them, which takes a while to complete.

Gameplay[]

There are two types of Passages or Portals that the Priestess can place on obstacles around the map. These are called Straight or Ultra-Long Passages/Portals.

Straight Passages

The Priestess starts with 2 Straight Passages/Portal at the beginning of the game, that can accumulate overtime throughout the game. The Priestess cannot replace her Holy Key with another different tool nonetheless. The Straight Passages can accumulate overtime up to a maximum of 3 Straight Passages, and they can be placed onto obstacles to allow both Priestess and other Survivors to enter the Straight Passage and traverse to the other side immediately. The Straight Passage can also be deployed vertically (indicated by the red line) on high altitude areas but both the Priestess and the Survivors will have to wait on top of the passage for awhile in order to enter the passage.

The Straight Passages will disappear naturally after 70 seconds (this is visually cued by the portal fading and blinking). But they can also be destroyed by the Hunter by performing their knife/charged attack. Alternatively, the Hunter can also enter through the Straight Passage but they will destroy it in the process and get stunned upon reaching to the other side. The stun duration varies base on the length of the passage.

Ultra-Long Passages

The Priestess can create an Ultra-Long Passage/Portal by calling another active Survivor to deploy her Ultra-Long Passage. Deploying an Ultra-Long passage will consume one charge of her Holy Key. The charge will be recovered if no one accepts the call, but it will not be recovered if the call is accepted by the Survivor or if the Priestess is interrupted during the deploying animation.

Once the Ultra-Long Passage is deployed, the Survivors can use it traverse to the other side of the Ultra-Long Passage in an instant. All Survivors, excluding the Priestess who created the Passage leave a residual white image upon entering it, which allows the Hunter to deal damage (even Terror Shock) to the Survivor and exposing their location for to them for 10 seconds. The Hunters cannot enter an Ultra-Long Portal but they can destroy the portal and can see the portal's location when deployed.

Each Priestess can only have at least one Ultra-Long Passage deployed at a time around the map, and should the new Ultra-Long Passage is created, it will immediately destroy the older Ultra-Long Passage.

Other Details[]

  • If timed exceptionally well, a Survivor who passed through a Global Portal can prevent being hit by using Flywheel Effect. It's important to note that the Flywheel Effect must be used when the damage is actually delivered, not when the Hunter hits the residual image.
  • Ultra-Long Passages created in the Photographer's Camera World will remain active even once the Camera World the portal was created during ends. It will only be visible and accessible in the Camera World.

As Priestess:[]

Straight Passages

  • Be creative with the Straight Passages and use them on certain areas where it can give you an advantage such as:
  • Avoid placing Straight Passages where the Hunter can easily get to the other side of the Passage quickly with ease without entering the Passage.
  • Using the Straight Passage can be useful for rescuing teammates from Rocket Chairs.
    • Placing the Straight Passage's exit near to the Rocket Chair can help both you and the rescued teammate to teleport back quickly and gain distance from the Hunter.
    • When the Hunter is undergoing their survivor chairing animation, quickly place and enter the Straight Passage near to the Hunter so that when they are done with their action, the Hunter will be forced to enter the portal and get stunned.
  • Straight Passages can be placed against most Pallets, which can be used to obtain a free pallet stun for the Hunters who dare to go through the passage.
  • If timed well, the Priestess can go back in a placed portal right before the Hunter passes through it, leaving the Hunter stranded on the opposite side of the obstacle.

Ultra-Long Passages

  • It is risky to place Global Portals near unfinished Cipher Machines, as the Hunter may use Teleport to quickly reach to that Cipher Machine after knocking down the Survivor's residual image. Make sure to finish them quickly if possible.
  • Avoid calling your teammates who are being chased by the Hunter as the Hunter can use this to their advantage to get a free hit on you, or destroy the Ultra-Long Passage before it can be deployed which will waste your ability.
  • Choose your teammates who are far away from you in order to maximize the Ultra-Long Passage's efficiency, as using it on short distances will waste your resources.
  • You can use the Ultra-Long Passages to seek for teammates to heal them and vice versa.

As Other Survivors:[]

Straight Passages

  • Priestess may sometimes pre-deploy her Straight Passages to assist you during the kite. Know your map surroundings well to determine its flexibility.
  • If the Priestess uses the Quick Chat, "Follow Me!", it means that she is creating the Straight Passage to assist your kite.

Ultra-Long Passages

  • Accept the call if there are no Hunters nearby. Otherwise, Quick Chat the Priestess that the "Hunter is Nearby!" to tell her to call someone else or to cancel her Ultra-Long Passage.
  • Some survivors such as the Gardener, Grave Keeper, Seer and Perfumer can use their tools or skills to prevent taking damage should the Hunter hits their residual image. These skills must be used before the damage is delivered.
  • Avoid entering the Ultra-Long Passage if the Hunter has strong Map Control or Mobility abilities as they can easily incapacitated you and teleport to your location in no time.
