hunter is a type of character in Identity V. They are responsible for eliminating survivors and sending them back to the manor by placing them on Rocket Chairs 1-3 times.

Gameplay Elements

Hunters are able to attack survivors, and after two hits the survivor will drop to the ground where they can then be picked up by a hunter. Hunters must then put the survivor in a Rocket Chair and keep them there until the countdown completes.

Different traits and abilities vary between the hunters which provides them with unique gameplay.

Chase

Though movement speed varies from hunter to hunter, all are at least slightly faster than survivors, though they go slower through vaultable windows. Some hunters are very fast (like The Ripper or Geisha) while others are very slow (like Hell Ember and Feaster) and must use other abilities to catch their prey.

Reactions

Hunters will have a long recovery animation after hitting a survivor, an occupied Rocket Chair, or hitting a survivor object (such as Mechanic's doll or Gravekeeper when burrowed). Hunters can also be stunned for a period of time by being hit with a dropped pallet, the tram on Eversleeping Town, or certain survivor abilities (the Flare Gun, Enchantress heart attack, Prospector's magnets, being tackled by Forward, shocked by Prisoner, or going through a Priestess portal), which not only stops the hunter from taking any actions but knocks carried survivors out of their hands.
