Jetpack is an External Trait that belongs to the Aeroplanist. As an external trait, it is a passive ability that the character starts the game with.
Trait Details[]
Description[]
Wears an unstable jetpack that propels him forward. After propelling forward once, the jetpack will propel in random directions.
The jetpack will propel a total of 3 times, within the last two propelling distance shorter than the first.
Hover
The jetpack can propel forward 1 time and hover for 2 seconds. The strong air velocity created by the liftoff pushes all characters, within range outward.
The jetpack can propel forward a greater distance while hovering, but the Hunter will be notified whenever you propel.
Gameplay[]
The Aeroplanist starts the match with a Jetpack, which can be used to propel himself in varying directions for a maximum of three times before it enters cooldown. When propelling, the first direction will always be facing forward, and the second and third one will be randomized between forward, left or right. Each propulsion has a short timer before being automatically set off, except for the first one, which will immediately propel when the player activates the skill. The player can also manually set off the next propulsion before the timer runs out by clicking the ability button again, allowing for a quick succession of dashes.
It's important to note that the direction Aeroplanist gets propelled depends on the way his character model is facing in game, not the way the player's camera is positioned. This means that it's possible to quickly turn the position of the character to keep propelling in a desired direction. This requires adequate timing to pull off but allows to control the propulsion even when the randomized directions are unfavorable.
Aeroplanist can also hover with his Jetpack once per match for a maximum of 2 seconds. When hovering, both Survivors and Hunters close to Aeroplanist will be pushed a few meters back. While in the air, propelling will push Aeroplanist further ahead than on ground, at the cost of alerting the Hunter when doing so. The height granted by the hover makes it possible for the character to fly over most walls, potentially escaping areas dense with obstacles. It's also important to note that the in-game appearance of some obstacles and walls may not actually match with their hitboxes and could deceive the player, so trial and error is required to make the best use out of this potential.
Other Details and Tips[]
Aeroplanist's Tips:[]
- Controlling the Jetpack requires quick reflexes and control as the Jetpack will propel randomly during its second and third propel.
- Be sure to read the HUD at the bottom middle of the screen to get yourself prepared for the quick time event to make use of the Jetpack's propel efficiently.
- Jetpack's Hover can only be used once per match, use it wisely.
- Do not use Hover if your Jetpack's propel is on cooldown, this will immobilize you and give the hunter a free hit once the Hover expires.
Hunters' Tips:[]
- Use abilities that focuses on mobility to catch up to the Aeroplanist when he is using his Propel.
- When Aeroplanist is hovering, pay attention to the alert he makes when using his propel to prevent losing sight of him during the chase.
