Manus de Capet's scandal

Manus de Capet's scandal

Manus de Capet was a wealthy and renowned Irish nobleman and acquired ownership of Oletus Manor. He then fell in love with a noblewoman from Austria, Mary Kreiburg, and married her shortly afterwards. Manus built Mary a racecourse after she began to feel depressed after their marriage, which was hailed as one of the most popular events in town; however, after Mary committed suicide and a fatal stampede happened, he was faced with a lawsuit from the public.

Manus, perhaps due to the sorrow of losing his wife or due to pressure from the claimants, was said to have gone mad and never to be seen again. His manor was sold to a new owner, by his creditors.
