—Margaretha Zelle (Deduction Star 2020) |
Appearance
Margaretha is a slender, petite doll with pale skin, a short, curled, black bob, thin black eyebrows, and large, black button eyes cross-stitched with black thread. Faint, black streaks of mascara run down her cheeks, and she wears pink lipstick.
She wears a coral pink leotard with delicate golden trimming and dangling beads over a striped tan-and-brown undershirt, matching shorts, and matching wristguards. She also wears laced-up, pink satin slippers with gold trimming. A coral pink satin cap with intricate gold embellishments covers her head. A tan purse with a leather strap is slung over her right shoulder, encrusted with a blue crystal, in which she holds multiple wooden music boxes with golden dispensers. Tears are visible in her left forearm and right leg, showing cotton stuffing.
Gameplay
The Female Dancer is a contain/assist-type Survivor who carries around three Music Boxes. She can change the tune of the Music Box to either make actions slower or faster. The blue music makes the Hunter's movements and interactions slower, while the red music makes her teammates' movements and interactions faster. She also gets a speed boost when falling from a height.
External Traits
Below is a list of Female Dancer's intrinsic traits. For more in-depth information, please check the individual pages.
External Traits | |
---|---|
Trait | Description |
Duet |
Switch between music types and place music boxes around to slow down Hunters' movement speed or increase movement speed of your teammates and yourself. Carries a Music Box that plays two pieces of music at different tempos. The fast setting increases the speed of actions and interactions (including Movement Speed, Pallet/Window Interaction Speed, Decoding Speed, and Rocket Chair countdown, etc.) of Survivors within range. The slow setting reduces the speed of actions and interactions (including Movement Speed, Pallet/Window Interaction Speed, Attack Speed, Casting Speed, etc.) of Hunters within range. The effect of the music is enhanced when the music of the same tempo is stacked. How to use Lingering Sound Slide |
Acrobatics |
The Dancer, a circus-raised performer, is skilled and graceful. When she falls from a height, she gains 30% increased movement speed for 3 seconds. Has a 40 seconds cooldown. |

Concept / Design Notes[4]
Design Notes
At the end of the 19th century, almost all women in the circus made a living by "showing their bodies". For example, outstanding women who served as models and performers at the same time were paid very high. If the ideal woman in the Victorian period was the "good girl", then the woman who was often in public places for consumption was representative of the "marginalised people". But in any case, the profession of "dancing girl" determines that she must have bare parts on her body. A classic lace or silk hat with delicate curly hair is fashionable and convenient for activities.

Trivia
- She is based on Mata Hari (formerly Margaretha Geertruida Zelle), an exotic dancer and convicted spy from the 19th and 20th centuries.
- She and her love triangle are also based on the Spanish film The Last Circus.
- Her appearance is based on American actress Lina Basquette, as shown in references on her design sheet.
- Though Margaretha has her own exclusive item, she can pick up a Tool from a chest if all her music boxes are placed down. She cannot, however, switch between her Music Boxes and another Tool freely.
- Margaretha will dance if a player stays idle in the presence of a music box.
- In the English version of Margaretha's deductions, her real name (Natasha) was mistranslated as "Fiona", which made players believe the person in her deductions was Fiona Gilman. The "Fiona" is actually Natasha.
- Just like how Natasha was mistranslated to "Fiona", Uncle Eugene was mistranslated as "Joakim."
- She is nicknamed as "Margie" by the community.
- She was originally a character planned to debut during the beta but was scrapped as seen in one beta testing illustration and in game files. Eventually, she was released in Season 2 after the official release of this game.
