No. 1 - August[]
[Name] August
[Identity] Member of the paranormal research club
[Likes] Photography, reading
[Dislikes] Being the center of attention, getting into trouble
[Status] In a deep slumber / Alive as "August"[1]
[Information] The paranormal research club came across some rumors of paranormal activities in this place. As a club member, he's here to look into it with the other members.
[Lost in the Mountain]
The fog got so dense that I was having trouble seeing. I wasn't sure when and how I got separated from the others in the paranormal research club.
[Stranger in the Fog]
I ran into a mysterious young man in the fog who gave me an antique lamp to guide my way. He told me to walk along the mist.
[Transitional Area]
Bai Ze took me in. The area around her house seems to be obstructed by a certain power no one can leave without her permission.
[Camera World]
A mischievous child appeared in the camera from nowhere. Is the urban legend about cameras capturing paranormal beings true?
[Friends Over A Paddle]
A child with a tiger stripe sack over his head called himself "Paddle" and claimed he was looking for a rice paddle. I read in a book that if you help a creature or spirit out, they will help you or fulfill your wish in return. Perhaps this Paddle will do the same...
[Pulled Out of the Water]
Paddle pushed me into the water for no reason but a man who calls himself "Crane" saved me. This whole ordeal broke Lady Bai Ze's "return before the light extinguishes" rule. I hope I won't get kicked out tomorrow... I should head back and rest.
[Sleepwalking Mystery]
I don't recall that I've ever sleepwalked, but how did I end up waking up in this house and taking off the red cloth over the mirror? It felt like someone forced me to look into the mirror. Anyway, I can't undo this. I'll speak to Bai Ze when she cools off.
[Spirits and Ghosts]
I've been given too much information about ghosts and spirits-the Mirror Demon who lives in the mirror, imitating the person looking into the mirror and eventually replacing them; Paddle who fends off misfortunes for others; the coveted Scroll of Bai Ze and its magical powers... If this is a dream, it's a chaotic and long one... Yet Bai Ze had asked me to help her out by informing her whenever I come across any item or information related to Master Yin Yang. This shouldn't be difficult. In any event, I'm not going to question her commands for now as I don't have a choice here.
[Opposing Claims]
The truth according to Censer is the exact opposite of Bai Ze's version. Since they're on opposite sides, it's reasonable for them to have opposing claims. The difference is that, while Censer hates Bai Ze, Bai Ze doesn't seem to have such strong feelings against Censer. Perhaps Censer's identity is so special that Bai Ze can't get rid of him. Or perhaps Bai Ze wants to use him as bait to get others. Why else is Bai Ze keeping such a dangerous foe around herself?
[Incense Burner]
As Bai Ze predicted, Censer found me and asked me to retrieve his incense burner. I suppose these creatures and spirits can't step inside the house, and this is how Bai Ze imprisons them. The only thing that surprises me is how naive these "villains" are. How can an outsider take things from the house without Bai Ze knowing? Censer's candor makes him an unlikely villain.
[The Truth About Sleepwalking]
I heard the sound of a bell before I fell asleep again. "No incense at night." Is it because of the incense burning in the room where the mirror lies that I won't wake up while "sleepwalking?" I should have known. After all, I've only seen Master Yin Yang with a bell in this place.
[Breaking the Fog]
Summarizing what the woman named Cierge said in a sentence—she's the altar lamp that can light the way out of the mountain in the fog, but the person holding the flame must be chosen by her, and only one person can leave. If what Cierge said is true, then it's very clear what Censer's aim is.
[Real or Fake][1]
If I'm him, and he's me, why does it matter who gets to live? This information and images are useless.
August Fernan Moebius—that's my name. Chairman of the paranormal research club—that's me. Deep inside the forest beneath the earth—where my members lie. The person in the missing person notice—that's me and the Mirror Demon. These snacks inn my pocket... Hahahaha! That thesis is fake. Fernan is my chairman, and they are still trapped in the fog—I must find them! Fernan! Moebius! Where are you?!
[Ancient Coin]
An antique coin with unremovable stains that Paddle found deep in the mountains. It has the engraving of a sacred beast, yet it still emits an ominous aura.
[Rosewood paddle]
Paddle's wooden Paddle had broken into four pieces. Even when pieced together, it requires tapes to hold it in place.
Censor's[2] vessel. It seems Censor is forced to linger because Bai Ze sealed the Boshan Censor[2] inside the house.
No. 2 - Bai Ze[]
[Name] Bai Ze
[Identity] A member of the prestigious Bai family who inherited the scroll
[Impression] A young girl dressed in expensive attire
[Relation] Guardian of the mountain and its creatures and spirits; seems to go way back with Master Yin Yang
[Status] Alive
[Information] The house she lives in is immune from the thick fog, and there are numerous antiques (authenticity unknown) in it. She carries a jade flute with a sacred beast carved on it. The young woman has an elegance about her that doesn't belong in the forest, yet she doesn't seem to like outsiders.
[Three Rules]
Outsiders mustn't disclose their real names. Don't follow the morning fog; don't stay out late. No solo reflection; no incense at night.
[Purity the Flute]
Purity is always worried about my health, get he's the one severely wounded in the Battle of Changchuan. While my power has been absorbed by this mountain along with a few scratches, Purity's form and soul have been shattered and can only rest inside this flute.
If he wants to live, I can't leave him be. If I tell him only part of the truth, will the ending be different?
[Talisman]
The way in which this type of talisman is drawn is one of the secrets held by the Bai family. Only Bai Ze and a few powerful elders in the Bai family can draw them properly.
[Bellflower]
Bai Ze's mother loved bellflowers when she was alive. When Bai Ze arrived at Changchuan, her mother's hometown, the first thing she did was to carry out her mother's dying wish to have her ashes scattered in Changchuan. The second thing she wanted to do was to cleanse the mountain and the forest, so that bellflowers could blossom everywhere in Changchuan.
[Tattered Page]
There seems to be a deeper meaning to what's written on the tattered page known only to Bai Ze and Master Yin Yang. Cierge seems to have figured something out, but she cares only about ending her life and doesn't have time for anything frivolous.
Master Yin Yang's family is a distant relative of the Bai family with a different last name, and their bloodline is somehow related to Bai Ze's mother. Perhaps that's why Bai Ze shows respect and mercy when it comes to matters that concern Master Yin Yang.
No. 3 - Master Yin Yang[]
[Name] Master Yin Yang
[Identity] The only descendent of a clan that used to rule the mountain
[Impression] A peculiar and dangerous local
[Relation] Using Censer for his own gain; Bai Ze's enemy; August's manipulator; the Mirror Demon's collaborator
[Status] Alive
[Information] A mysterious being appeared and disappeared out of nowhere, swinging an odd bell in one hand and holding a lamp in another.
[Missing Person Notice]
Someone's missing, but the portrait on the paper is smudged. The features look familiar, though.
Follow the morning fog as you go; bathe in the evening fog as you return.
[Talisman]
Master Yin Yang knows how to draw such a talisman.
[Lotus Mirror]
Master Yin Yang inherited this lotus mirror from his ancestors. It can supposedly ward off evil spirits.
[Boshan Censer]
In the Battle of Changchuan, Paddle's deepest fear was awakened by Master Yin Yang's presence. He couldn't help but obey Master Yin Yang's orders and stole the tattered pages of the Bai Ze Scroll, which belonged to Censer and Bai Ze. However, before he could give them to Master Yin Yang, Paddle took a hit for Bai Ze and lost his memory.
Strips of cloth of this kind are commonly found tied in a knot on tall trees in the forest. Even though they are severely damaged now, this type of cloth is very sturdy when it is intact and can withstand the weight of an adult.
No. 4 - Paddle[]
[Name] Paddle
[Identity] The embodiment of a rosewood paddle
[Impression] A creepy boy with a sack over his head
[Relation] Bai Ze's guardian / August's guardian[1]
[Status] Alive / Perished[1]
[Information] A child who appeared after you took a photo. Not sure if he's human. He cherishes a decrepit rosewood paddle / a rosewood paddle which is old and broken[1].
[Repaying Gratitude]
Don't look down on a water surface... not even one with ripples...
The outsider walks around every night with his eyes closed. Is he playing hide and seek with himself? Where is he going tonight?
[Fireflies]
In the story as told by Paddle, fireflies are messengers of the mountain god who lit the mountain roads for the girl.
[Talisman]
Such a talisman can be found all over the mountain. It can supposedly seal off ominous objects.
[Lotus Mirror]
The family carrying this type of mirror once looked after Paddle's clan.
Three years ago, the riot in the mountain was instigated by a group of outsiders when their actions awoke the Boshan Censer. In order to suppress the riot, Bai Ze fought with Censer and the others in Changchuan. At a critical moment, Paddle took an arrow for Bai Ze.
No. 5 - Censer[]
[Name] Censer
[Identity] The embodiment of a Boshan Censer
[Impression] An arrogant young man
[Relation] Master Yin Yang's collaborator; hates Bai Ze
[Status] Perished
[Information] Appeared near the house deep into the night, speaking to a mirror. It appeared that Master Yin Yang was on the other side of the mirror. Unsure what they were conspiring.
[Blinding Fog]
This mountain suffers from the rage of the mountain god. Everyone is cursed. Why would Bai Ze kill him? The dead will be revived in the fog. You can't see a thing in the fog, and yet you are never alone.
Is Master Yin Yang making things up about Bai Ze? Is the Mirror Demon real? Oh right, Crane told me about it, but I don't believe him. Then again, why would anyone believe these traitors? At least Master Yin Yang promised me that, once we get rid of Bai Ze and the seal beneath the mountain is broken, he'll take me with them in fulfilling my wish. My power is running out, but if it's Master Yin Yang... I have no choice but to trust him.
[Boshan Censer]
Boshan is a sacred mountain by the sea. Once the incense is burned, the overflowing smoke creates a menagerie of clouds, surrounding the Boshan Censer and making it look like the sacred mountain of legend — a misty mountain of immortals, a solace for mortals it shall be.
[Ancient Coin]
Outsiders have always tried to uncover the secrets in this mountain. Rumor has it there are invaluable treasures buried beneath the mountain.
During the Battle of Changchuan, Cierge once provided great assistance to Censer. After the battle, when the surviving leaders of the remnant factions pledged their allegiance to Bai Ze, Cierge also left Censer's side.
No. 6 - Cierge[]
[Name] Cierge
[Identity] ??[3]
[Impression] A dangerous and stubborn woman in a constantly agitated state of mind
[Relation] A former subordinate of Censer, turned by Bai Ze
[Status] Alive
[Information] Appeared deep into the night on top of a tree alongside a black cat. It seems that she has long been tortured by the truth, which led to her mental problems.
[Dream and Reality]
I'm having the same dream over and over again. From the day the fog came until the day I die, I've been dreaming about more and more people in the fog as the power of the scroll gets weaker by the minute.
[Hairpin]
The outsider found Bai Ze's hairpin, but Bai Ze lost it again when she accompanied the outsider on his way out with the altar lamp. Perhaps this is not important.
Although the legend says that the altar lamp never goes out, there will be a day when it finally dims. At the tip of the lamp, there are spatter stains that are difficult to remove. In the words of Cierge, this is perhaps the last piece of evidence of the creator's existence.
No. 7 - Crane[]
[Name] Crane
[Identity] The embodiment of a copper crane
[Impression] An odd angler who fishes with a single thin thread
[Relation] A former subordinate of Censer, turned by Bai Ze
[Status] Alive
[Information] An eccentric old man fishing by the river without a hook, and his fish basket is always empty. He's extremely inquisitive and curious about the outside world.
[Outsider]
I heard from Censer that more than one visitor had entered the mountain, yet Lady Bai Ze only takes this one in. It's a shame that this one is so quiet and boring. I doubt he's got an interesting story.
[Bellflower]
Bai Ze's cousin once visited Bai Ze in this mountain. She's really keen on telling stories and immediately clicked with Crane. Crane found out that this cousin really looked up to Bai Ze and wanted to become a woman like Bai Ze whom the men in the family dared not look down upon.
[Tattered Page]
Last year, Bai Ze's cousin wrote the following poem in a dream: A man who isn't... an image which isn't... shadows and whispers linger in the fog... Don't respond in the morning... don't stay out at night... don't look into the mirror and light incense alone... A visitor who isn't... a man who isn't... can you tell the living from the dead? Going mad, going blind, going to lose your mind...
Many years ago, an earthquake wiped out a prominent family living in the mountain. However, Lady Bai Ze's cousin told Crane that most of the members of that family didn't die in the earthquake but hung themselves.

Fireflies in the Forest[]
Fireflies roam through the summer night, illuminating the path in the mist. Catching a firefly is like grabbing a star from high above.
| Who left this net here? Are there kids in the forest? This brings back memories! I used to catch fireflies with my friends every summer night. It's a shame that... |
| We just need a few more fireflies to make some lanterns! That way, we can go exploring in the fog later! |
You can enter this minigame by clicking on the bush with the big fireflies. The goal of the game is to catch so much fireflies as Lucky Guy as possible while avoiding the leaves. Fireflies and leaves will spawn at random places and drift around[4] on the playing field until they get caught (which will cause an equivalent number of new ones to spawn). Every firefly you catch gives you 1 point and every leaf gives you -1 point. The amount of points earned will not go lower than 0. The more fireflies are captured, the slower Lucky Guy will move.
There are three difficulty settings: Novice Bug Catcher, Adept Bug Catcher and Master Bug Catcher. Based on the difficulty setting and the amount of points earned, a certain amount of Carved Pendants can be obtained. All difficulty settings have the same duration (60 seconds), but the conversion rate from points to Carved Pendants differs (see below for the rates). The higher the amount of points, the higher the number of Carved Pendants earned. The maximum amount of Carved Pendants that can be earned per day is 20.

Trivia[]
- If you reconnect at the ending of the minigame, the time counter will run into the negative and the game will keep going until you exit it yourself. You won’t get any rewards this way.
- If you reconnect during the minigame itself, the time counter will also run into the negative, but it will stop by itself after not too long (presumably giving you the time back that you lost by having to reconnect) and you can get rewards as normal.
- The background for the minigame is the area before and the lower portion of Bai Ze's house.
- In the minigame version of this area, the water has disappeared and the bottle (see Background Items) is missing.
- There is a graffiti based on the minigame: Fireflies.

Trivia[]
- There is a secret non standard game over ending which August will die in the forest. However, the game will give the player a chance to revert their decision in order to continue with the story.
- On the 1st Day of the event, disobey Master Yin Yang's instructions and not follow the mist on the right but instead go left.
- On the 2nd Day of the event, refuse to stay at Bai Ze's house by selecting "She's dangerous. I must take my leave now."

Notes[]
- ↑ 1.0 1.1 1.2 1.3 1.4 1.5 You will get either of these depending on which ending was achieved, here respectively either "The Mirror Demon left the forest in victory" or "The character survives, but still lingers in the cycle".
- ↑ 2.0 2.1 "Censor" is most likely a typo and meant to say "Censer".
- ↑ After unlocking the last information on Cierge and reaching 100% exploration progress for her character, the [Identity] section was filled with information from the [Impression] section, merging the two sections. This caused every information section to go up one heading, causing the [Impression], [Relation], [Status] and [Information] parts to be wrongly displayed as [Identity], [Impression], [Relation] and [Status] respectively. As a result, the [Information] heading was deleted. All this has been corrected here for clarity.
However, this leaves the actual content of the [Identity] section unknown. Nevertheless it can be gathered from the dialogue and rest of the information from the event that it was likely meant to say something along the lines of "The embodiment of an altar lamp". - ↑ In the in-game description of the minigame it is said that the fireflies and leaves "fall from above", this is not really the case.
