Molten Wax is a hunter ability belonging to the Wax Artist, Philippe. This ability is unlocked when the hunter's Presence Bar is full.

Description[]
The Wax Artist heats his wax, causing its temperature to rise sharply. Hot wax will be sprayed instead for no more than 25 seconds. Survivors who come into contact with the ejected hot wax will be burned. When the Wax Burning progress is filled to 100, it increases Fear by the same amount as a normal attack, and this can't be blocked by most of the Survivors' items or external traits. The Wax Artist can deactivate Molten Wax and make the ability enter cooldown.

Summary[]
The Wax Artist will increase his wax temperature into Molten Wax, instead of spluttering wax that can trapped survivors and block windows and pallets temporary, his molten wax can now deal damage equal to the Wax Artist's normal attack once the affected survivor's Wax Meter reaches to 100. The Wax Artist can manually cool down the wax temperature to switch back to his normal wax but make the Molten Wax ability to enter its cooldown.
This ability can also influence his Waxen Coat to splash out Molten Wax instead during that period.
Other Details[]
- Molten Wax will not block Survivors from interacting with windows, dropped Pallets, Cipher Machines or Exit Gates.
- The amount of Wax Progress on a Survivor will be converted to Wax Burning Progress if a Survivor gets hit by Molten Wax.
- Survivor who reached 100% of the Wax Accumulation will lose 50% health immediately after getting hit by Molten Wax.
- Sputtering Survivors who are undergoing Wax Burning Progress with normal Wax will reset the Wax Accumulation back to 0%.
- Wax Coat and Solid Wax can accumulate Wax Burning Progress once active.
Hunter Tips[]
- This ability is useful in open areas of a map, as there is not much area for the Survivors to take cover.
- Wax Artist can trap a survivor then switch to Molten Wax to apply damage and then hit them with his default attack allowing the Wax Artist to instantly incapacitate a survivor.
- If a Survivor is trying to run to a closed/tight area, and they're in the middle of the open, you can quickly accumulate the wax and damage them.
- Hot Wax can ignore the protection and deal damage to the main body such as:
- Gardener with her Protection activated.
- Wildling while riding his Boar.
- Seer or other survivors being protected by the Owl.
Survivor Tips[]
- Be aware if you are in the open and are trying to find a better area to kite, as the Wax Artist can quickly accumulate wax on you and damage you.
- Do not try to stun the Wax Artist during his Molten Wax effect as his Wax Coat can fill up your Wax Accumulation and damage you.
