Monstrous Bird is a Reoccurring Time-Limited S-tier Costume for the Gardener, Emma Woods. It was introduced to the Illusion Hall as part of the The Final Tale along with The Final Tale, during the Global Third Anniversary event, Mélodis Estate Investigation.
Availability[]
As it is not a true Limited Costume (which are denoted by the "limited" tag found in the top right of certain card icons), it can return to the Illusion Hall multiple times. It frequently returns with its specialty accessory The Final Tale.
- It was originally available for purchase from July 15th to August 4th, 2021 during the Mélodis Estate Investigation event.
- It returned for purchase from July 14th to August 4th, 2022 during the The Shrouded Bélóstáin event.
- It returned for purchase from July 20th to August 3rd, 2023 during the Castle Zinaida's Unfinished Chapter event.
- It returned for purchase from November 21st to December 18th, 2024 during the Thanksgiving Party (2024) event.

Physical[]
Emma's appearance is one of a ball jointed doll in this costume, as her joints seem to be made of gold as well as the vine-like "carvings" on her skin. According to the story, she stepped in a pool of blood, so her right foot is stained red. Her eyes are gold with a rose flower carved on each of them. The right eye is surrounded by purple feathers looking like long eyelashes. There are also gold spiral carvings under both eyes. Her hair is a very dark brown, almost black, with the bangs a deep green color. Her bangs are split on the side and her medium-length hair is tied up in a curly ponytail. She also has an undercut.
Outfit[]
Emma is wearing a gorgeous translucent black dress with a deep green shine. It reaches to her knees and is open at the front, revealing an intricate golden crinoline with blue gems, fittingly resembling a birdcage. The dress has a low neckline and an open back which are surrounded by shiny black and dark green feathers, which can also be seen over the lower part of the dress, covering the area under her corset. There are gold decorations on the rims of the dress and the short, flowy sleeves, alongside a big golden ornament of a rose and a bird on her left shoulder. On Emma's head is a big golden crown shaped roughly like plant vines, with several rose shapes on it and in the center a decoration shaped like a bird's head and beak. On the bird's head a shining big blue diamond-shaped gem is set, while two similarly colored gems make up its eyes. In the roses' middles and between the vines are several more blue gems. The same gems can be found in her diamond-shaped earrings and golden necklace.
Object[]
Emma's toolbox now represents a black colored bird cage, with a golden colored grape vine attached to the back, and the tip of the vine went through the handle of the cage. Inside the bird cage, there is a light yellowed sculpture of a woman and a person with a cloak.
Special Effects[]
Three translucent blue birds fly around her and the gems as well as the rose ornament emit pale blue light. The rose ornament also emits yellow light and tiny blue birds similar to the birds that fly around her. The tiny birds will turn purple before disappearing.

A sudden heavy rain, an invitation to attend a stormy night together
At a special salon hosted by DM, all the new artist dealers in the city attended in disguise. However, a sudden rainstorm caused a power outage, and the salon could not be held smoothly, so in order to pass the time, people played a "surprise" game, and everyone told a story according to the props they drew. After Monstrous Bird, who was DM's assistant, told the final tale, everyone went back to their room to rest.
But the stormy night "game" did not end there. A series of accidents happened in the manor. The storytellers had their own endings. The "Monstrous Bird" disappeared mysteriously. What kind of role did she play in this game?
Gorgeous and elegant, presenting charming charm
The gardener's S-Tier costume package "The Final Tale" consists of the S-Tier costume "Monstrous Bird" and the S-Tier accessory "The Final Tale". Gardener - Monstrous Bird is dressed in a gorgeous feathered dress, with blue-purple gradient feathers and translucent tulle that make her even more elegant; she wears a golden hair crown, with complex shapes and inlaid gems that make it look extraordinary; the bird-shaped ornaments on her left shoulder and the luminous birds hovering beside her echo the name of "Monstrous Bird".
But underneath the beauty and elegance, Gardener - Monstrous Bird also shows a hint of mystery — the hands and arms seem to be stitched together, with metal mechanisms exposed in the elbow sockets, and there are obvious patterns on the arms and calves. The red right foot contrasts with the white left foot, and the front of the feathered dress has been torn open, revealing a birdcage shaped skirt support, which is broken in several places, arousing curiosity.
Gardener - Monstrous Bird's hand-held object is a bird cage, but it is not a bird in the cage; there are two small figures, one sitting and one standing, seemingly performing some mysterious ritual.

Design Idea
The inspiration for the Monstrous Bird is the fairy tale Fitcher's Bird. The sorcerer kidnapped a girl and told her that he could give her everything, but she could not run away, and never lose the egg he gave her, and never open the door of the forbidden room. The first girl violated the sorcerer’s request and now her whereabouts are unknown. To find her, her sister also came to the sorcerer's castle. She discovered the sorcerer's secret, and at the same time violated the sorcerer's request and embarked on a dangerous escape journey. To a certain extent, this story reflects the relationship between the Monstrous Bird and the "Succubus" in the anniversary story in the Global Servers.
Initial Sketches
We designed a sticky feather doll wearing a birdcage skirt around the theme of the Monstrous Bird.
The first version of the sketches are roughly close to the theme, but the use of elements is not detailed and it was messy. We chose to continue to optimize and modify based on the combination of the three sketches.
The second version of the sketch unifies the overall color, emphasizes the enhancement of the clothing material, the gorgeousness of the decoration, and makes the hairstyle and makeup more exquisite, and at the same time adds effects of birds that fit the theme.
Finally, we refined on the basis of the second version of the sketch, optimized some detailed designs, and the Gardener's Monstrous Bird costume was done.
Costume Details
- Under the skirt of the strange bird is an exquisite and gorgeous golden birdcage-style pannier, with complex and gorgeous shapes, inlaid with large pieces of precious gems, as if this luxurious birdcage is used to imprison the gorgeous birds.
- The strange bird's hands are spliced together, with the metal mechanism and the joint balls are exposed, covering her with a mysterious and strange veil.
- The bare right foot of the Monstrous Bird was stained with blood stains to conform to the plot in the fairy tale, "The girl stepped on a pool of blood, and the sorcerer found her trace."
- The Monstrous Bird is dressed in a gorgeous feather dress, blue-purple feathers and the flowing veil make her look dignified and elegant, and her left shoulder is decorated with a bird that is about to fly.
Showroom Interface Design
The Monstrous Bird seemed to be chased by some terrible existence, and the footprints left by turned into birds surrounding her, symbolizing her guardian and isolating the ensuing crisis.
The faint blue birds circling led the Monstrous Bird and provided her with information on how to escape this nightmare.
The bird took the cage from the Monstrous Bird's hand, and tried to grab her hand, as if trying to pull her out of this delicate cage in a hurry.
Custom Lobby Model Design
The faint blue birds hovered around the Monstrous Bird, like giving her company and protection. The ornament on Monstrous Bird gives out golden streams, which complements the fluorescent gems on her chest and between the gem between her crown on her forehead.
Trivia[]
- This costume is tied to the story of Mélodis Estate Investigation. It plays the role of "D.M."'s/"Enigma"'s assistant and the only surviving victim of "Succubus"' murders.
- According to a Q&A session, Monstrous Bird is Lady Truth in disguise.[3]
- In this costume's showroom, Emma's skin is glowing. This effect is not visible in a match or in a room.
- This costume is based on Aarne Thompson's Fitcher's Bird.
