Mrs. DeRoss was the mother of Baron DeRoss and Alice DeRoss and the wife of Dennis DeRoss, the original owner of Oletus Manor.

Compiled Overview[]

In the 19th century, Mrs. DeRoss and her husband, Dennis, purchased a manor in a remote mountain area for a cheap price due to the manor's low reputation. After moving into the manor, the two began to renovate it. Dennis, who was an artist, filled the manor with imagery of the Nine Muses. To please Mrs. DeRoss, who was a composer, Dennis incorporated musical elements into the manor. Sometime afterwards, they would take in a son. Mrs. DeRoss would also later give birth to a daughter.[1]

Under Dennis's employment was a genius architect named Burke Lapadura who was in charge of manor security, and a gamekeeper named Bane Perez who was in charge of watching the forests part of his estate. As well as Burke and Bane, the DeRoss family also kept on a number of other workers in order to "boost the local employment rates. Even if such an action posed a risk to their property." During this period Burke made Guard 26 as part of the manor security.

The children were very interested in Burke's inventions and the forest Bane protected, despite the warnings from both adults of how dangerous they could be.

At some point, Mrs. DeRoss contracted lung cancer. Doctors would advise her husband to pay for advanced treatment as without it, nothing more could be done to help her. It is unknown if this was done.

After a group of poachers hunted down Bane's pet Elk, Bane was severely injured and Guard 26 chased them off with his inserted weaponry. During Bane's recovery and while Burke was readjusting Guard 26, an angry mob including "familiar faces" swarmed the manor, killed Dennis and Mrs. DeRoss, and took away the two children.

Alternate Theories and Conclusions[]

  • Baron DeRoss is the son of the DeRoss family who would purchase the manor and the title sometime after his parents' passing. Baron DeRoss was likely adopted by the DeRoss family rather than actually being related by blood.
  • It is theorized Mrs. DeRoss may be the friend of Lord Kreiburg who created the song Frederick Kreiburg played at the beginning of Ashes of Memory Episode 1.
