Professor Kaiser was the professor of Alva Lorenz and Herman Zeeman.

Compiled Overview

Little is known about Professor Kaiser. He was a professor at an academy. At some point, he taught Alva Lorenz and Herman Zeeman about physics. This would begin their interests in research as well as introduce the two to each other. The two would go on to become collaborators and best friends.

Some time later, Herman would die while trying to create a Perpetual Motion Engine. Kaiser would reach out to Alva and assist with Herman's funeral preparations. He would also offer Alva a job at the academy, letting him stay there and teach. Alva would write back to Kaiser, thanking him for his help and delving a bit further into his relationship with Herman. However, Alva would also reject his offer, saying he needed to leave and seek out something new, vowing to not let mistakes be repeated. He ended by saying he would seal away the Perpetual Motion Engine, hoping that all thought of it will die with Herman.

• Professor Kaiser is likely based on Frederik Kaiser, a Dutch astronomer and teacher of Hendrik Lorentz, who Alva Lorenz is based on. Frederik is notable for helping advance and popularize Dutch astronomy.
  • Frederik Kaiser is directly mentioned to have heavily influenced Hendrik Lorentz in his decision to become a physicist similar to how Alva credits Professor Kaiser with introducing him to physics.
  • Hendrik Lorentz would also end up marrying Frederik Kaiser's niece, Aletta Catharina Kaiser. Since Alva is mentioned to have a wife, she might be Professor Kaiser's niece.
• Since the reveal of "Cueist"'s Background Story Trailer there has been speculation the man in a wig next to Alva with a monocle could potentially be Professor Kaiser. This man has a similar appearance to the individual shown in Luca's Background Story Trailer, once thought to be Alva. This could mean in Luca's memories, he had combined Kaiser and Alva into one man.
