Risktaker, formerly known as Crapshooter, is a Limited S-Tier Costume for the Doctor, Emily Dyer. It was introduced in Season 21 Essence 2.
The costume's essence was obtainable between June 2nd and July 6th, 2022.
Appearance[]
Physical[]
Emily's face and head is slightly remodeled and appears slimmer. Her eyes are made of golden snakes, twisted to resemble rose flowers. The snake heads peek out on the sides and have red heart-shaped tongues. Her short hair is blonde and is styled in a wavy, 20's type of style. There is some kind of red root-like marking on her chest. Her plump lips are a vibrant red color.
Outfit[]
Emily is wearing an extravagant shiny bright red dress. It reaches to just under her knees, has long tight sleeves, is laced on the back and has exposed shoulders. This layer of the dress has the same root-like pattern on it like her chest. To keep Emily warm, the dress also has an outer layer on her hips, making them appear wider. It's shiny and red and has golden decals of snakes and card suits. The same golden snakes can be seen on her sleeves, shoes and necklace. There is also a white fur scarf around her chest, and a bunch of small red roses with the petals scattered on it. She's wearing classy black high heels with golden snakes and a rose stringed up on each shoe, as well as black gloves with red dice attached. On her neck is a beautiful necklace made out of golden snakes. Her earrings are made of double golden hearts with red dice gems in them. There is a small black hat on the side of her head with white feathers.
Syringe[]
Her syringe is changed to a tall wine glass with a pointy handle. It's red and has roses and wine patterns on it.
Special Effects[]
The white feathers fall off her hat. The red roses on her chest emit small red petals and the part of the dress at her hips glows slightly. Her glass/syringe sparkles as well.

When the mysterious casino opens again at midnight, as long as you pay a little "insignificant" price, you have a chance to get everything you dream of! Come on, start a fateful duel here and wait for the winner to be announced.
Midnight carnival, enjoy the banquet to the fullest
The mysterious casino, which is only open at midnight, is run by a boss codenamed "Risktaker." There are endless games going on there, a carnival for opportunists. People are intoxicated with the joy of extravagance and wealth, and firmly believe in the rumors about the casino—for a small price, they can get incredible rewards. Whether it's money, talent, or the irreversible past.
But to this day, no one has seen the winner of the final reward. They will always lead to the predetermined ending like a curse: in order to make up for the regrets of defeat, they will not hesitate to betray themselves to the game itself.
In the highlight poster released by "Identity V", the Doctor - Risktaker stands at the table, presiding over a crucial game as the guests are immersed in it. "Novelist" - High Roller and "Nightmare" - Roulette are positioned on the left and right, with sideways glances. The waiters and guests a little farther away are also in focus, some surprised, some indifferent, some smiling wryly. Perhaps everyone's role in this place of revelry is not a simple one.

"Life isn't fair, but everyone is equal in the game of luck: you could roll a one or a six; the odds are just the same." The Doctor - Risktaker always appears in her mysterious casino wearing gorgeous clothes, the fishtail skirt is covered with fine lines that have a strong three-dimensional effect. A cluster of gorgeous roses blooms on the white fur stole, and the red dew is scattered, as bright as a gem. It is covered with a red gauze trailing skirt, and the complicated tassels behind it are even more grand. Gold thread embroiders four patterns and a winding spiritual snake, which is echoed in the dice earrings, domino hand ornaments and the golden snake pattern on the dress sleeves, symbolizing the crisis behind the carnival game.
The feast is in full swing, and the Doctor - Risktaker uses the strange wine glass in her hand as a dice cup. The golden snake coiled, forming a dazzling necklace and rose-shaped eyes. Her eyes will see through everyone's disguise and elicit the most primitive desires, making every guest fall deeply into it and surrender forever.
On the character showroom interface, the Doctor - Risktaker strolls into the rain of roses. The wine in her glass made her slightly tipsy, and then she rolls the dice with ease, demonstrating her absolute control over the game. During the chase, she is like a rose blooming in the dark night, with petals falling, feathers flying, and fluorescent lights shining. The strange wine glass became a tool to heal herself and her teammates, allowing the game to continue.

Background Story
This time the essence story is themed around the night casino. People indulge in various gambles because of desire, and pay more money to try to recover after the defeat is settled. As the boss's tester, she controls the situation like blood, with her two assistants by her left and right side. There are customers in the gambling field, and there are also employees who lose themselves and join the scene...
In this story, we hope to show the Doctor's strong and glamorous side. The content of the story is related to the Professor's essence story. People indulge in luxury and money, and make mistakes again and again in order to restore what was lost, and will eventually pay an unimaginable price.
Design Idea Plan
Combined with the theme, we chose snakes representing the ancient Greek God of Medicine, dice commonly used in games, and retro dresses in the design elements. In order to highlight her more powerful and elegant temperament, we modified the Doctor's hair style, and changed the syringe to a semi-transparent goblet containing dice.
Design Idea Sketch
The role of the doctor is to be the boss of the scene, the "heart" and "blood" of the entire game field. She is the mistress who controls the situation and the playground like blood in her veins. All the power was displayed on her body, and it became the most gorgeous and moving dress.
The overall performance of the three images is not grand enough, lacks the bearing of a controller, and the overall costume is a bit too old-fashioned. Although the elements of the game field are sufficient, it does not show that the doctor is the lifeblood of the gambling field.
Based on the first sketch, the second version of the sketch was revised and adjusted to make the character more atmospheric, in line with the temperament of a noble, sexy lady.
Keeping the overall temperament consistent, some decorative details are added, and game field elements are added to the jewerly and clothing patterns to make the whole character match the theme better.

Showroom Interface Design
The Doctor - Risktaker wandered in a rain of roses petals, slightly tipsy on a glass of wine.
She fiddled with the dice, elegant and natural.
In-Game Display
During the chase, she is like a rose blooming in the night, with petals falling, feathers fluttering, and fluorescent lights shining.
The strange goblet became a tool for healing herself and teammates, allowing the game to continue.
Trivia[]
- The costume was previously named Crapshooter but was changed before its release due to complaints and jokes about the name.[3]
- A crapshooter is someone who plays the gambling game Craps. Informally, the name can also be used to refer to someone as a risk taker, however, most of the fandom had interpreted the name Crapshooter a bit differently, due to obvious reasons.
- Despite the name of the costume being changed, the A Gift of Essence portrait is still called Crapshooter.
- The Season 21 Essence 2 Essence Trailer features Risktaker with a statue of Hygieia, the Greek goddess of good health.
- Risktaker is the first Doctor costume to utilize a different pose for the Doctor in its design sheet and on its card icon.
- On September 1st 2022, the costume was adjusted to have slimmer hips due to complaints from some players on the Chinese Server. The special effect around the top of her skirt was also removed.
- On February 9th 2023, the costume received a second adjustment to her hips, this time making them wider and similar to how they were upon release.
