"Go nuts, my rocket friend!"[1]

Rocket Dash is a Hunter ability belonging to Smiley Face, Joker. It is unlocked after reaching 1000 Presence Points. It will upgrade into Crazed Dash once 2500 Presence Points are reached.

Official Details[]

Rocket Dash[]

Brandishing a rocket, Joker dashes forward quickly and destroys all targets in his way.

Crazed Dash[]

After multiple intimate collaborations, Joker can dash farther and faster with his rocket.

Resistance[]

If the Rocket Dash is interrupted by Survivors, the device will return the modification parts and retain some kinetic energy, reducing the cooldown for the next Rocket Dash by 6 seconds.

Statistics[]

  • Cooldown: 12 seconds

Gameplay[]

Using his Rocket Launcher, the Smiley Face is able to dash across a distance at high speed as long as his fuel remains, he doesn't collides with an obstacle or survivor, and as long as the Player doesn't manually cancel the dash. The distance can be increase to infinite if the Propeller is added onto a modified version of the rocket, or once it upgrades at full Presence. If he crashes into a dropped Pallet, the pallet will be destroyed. If he runs into a survivor, they will take normal damage, and he won't have an attack recovery animation. Sensitivity of turning while dashing can be adjusted in the settings.

His rocket dash can cause Terror Shock survivors dealing double damage if they vault over the pallet or a window as well as other interactions.

If Joker gets stunned or interrupted during his Rocket Dash, his cooldown will be reduced to 6 seconds instead and the Joker will have to equip the modification parts on his Weapon again.

Survivor's Abilities that will trigger Resistance[]

Other Details[]

  • All remaining Survivors can hear Smiley Face attempting to use his Rocket Dash.
  • The only Active Traits the Smiley Face can use during his Rocket Dash are Excitement and Blink.
  • Oddly enough, Rocket Dash can still end even if Smiley Face enters the Priestess' Straight Passage during his Excitement effect.
  • Resistance will not be triggered if Smiley Face has successfully hits a survivor, destroys a pallet, collide with objects, cancels his dash manually, and consumes all of his fuel.
    • Resistance will not be triggered if the Smiley Face gets interrupted by the Map Environments such the Tram in Eversleeping Town as the ability's description says "interrupted by survivors".
  • The Rocket Dash's speed is 7.52m/s assuming no modifications are equipped and Smiley Face didn't reach to his full presence (Crazed Dash).
    • If Smiley Face reaches to full presence, the Crazed Dash's speed is 9.25m/s without any modifications.

Smiley Face's Tips[]

  • The rocket can actually be activated before the presence is needed to activate the Rocket Dash. Attaching the drill or wings attachment will activate the rocket until you either normal attack to dash attack a survivor. If a propeller is attached you will be rocket dash infinitely like normal, only much slower (this dash is still slightly faster than the normal running speed of a survivor). If you don't have the required presence the rocket dash will be locked until you have the presence.
  • Mind game survivors into using their tools so that your rocket dash will not get wasted and hit them while their items are on cooldown.
  • The Rocket Dash can break pallets much faster than the normal animation. If you see a survivor going for a pallet, consider using a Rocket Dash to chase them. The survivor will either be forced to drop the pallet and not make as much distance as normal, or to not drop the pallet and risk getting hit by the dash.
  • The Rocket Dash excels at catching survivors who are running straight. If you know that there aren't many obstacles or palettes nearby when in a chase, a Rocket Dash can quickly land a hit.
  • Smiley is susceptible to looping, especially in tight areas with lots of windows and palettes, where he can't use his dash. Traits like Destructiveness can help him with difficult loops. Blink may also be taken.
    • Practice makes perfect! Create a custom game and practice dashing around the map with the propeller attachment. You will learn about which turns you can barely make with the dash, and areas where you cannot. Leave a large area for your mouse for tight turns.
    • No matter how much you practice, there are some turns that the Rocket Dash cannot turn, like a very small tight turn or even a 180 turn. Avoid activating Rocket Dash in an area you know you cannot use it.
  • Smiley's Rocket Dash can terror shock survivors vaulting windows or palettes. The Rocket Dash will not activate Detention.
    • You can aim for a terror shock while camping by holding the Rocket Dash button and release it when the survivor interacts with the rocket chair.
  • The longer you dash, the more sensitive the rocket is when colliding with an object hence ending the dash.

Survivor Tips[]

  • Smiley Face is incredibly mobile, being able to quickly move across maps. If you hear his dash immediately try to hide. Hiding at a door is a good way to avoid the Rocket Dash, as Smiley Face cannot turn that sharp. Alternatively, vaulting a window or dropping a pallet can be used in a pinch.
  • Don't underestimate the speed of the Crazed Dash, especially with the wings attachment as the wings attachment can help increase his Rocket Dash's Speed.
  • If you can kite well, leading Smiley Face into a tight area can make it difficult for him to hit you as he cannot turn very sharply.
  • Never run in a straight line against a Smiley Face, he will catch you. Take turns as much as possible to avoid him.
  • Avoid pallet stunning against Smiley Face during his Rocket Dash as the game will count it as a hit to you.
  • If the hunter misses his dash, take advantage of this and make distance when his dash is on cooldown.
  • Detention doesn't affect Smiley Face's rocket dash. If you are full health when the exit gates are activated, Smiley will be forced to hit you normally to down you. Keep this in mind and take advantage of this.
  • Survivors with a quick stun (Enchantress or "Prisoner") can interrupt Smiley Face's dash before he reaches them. This will reduce his Rocket Dash's cooldown to 6 seconds due to Resistance. Use it as a last resort.
