Rosa Barriere is the mother of Lily Barriere, the Cheerleader.
Compiled Overview[]
Rosa Barriere was the wife of Reger Barriere, the 2nd son of the Barriere family. They would have 2 children together, their eldest, Simon, and their youngest, Lily. Lily would come during the first snow of winter on November 13th. Rosa hoped she would be as pure and quiet as a lily.[1]
As her children grew up, Simon would show a talent in horse racing, much to the happiness of the family. During the Epsom Derby preliminaries, Simon would come out on top, leading to Reger's father, Count Barriere, attending the celebration. This sparked hope of the family being welcomed back into the Barriere family.[2]
Reger would use this opportunity to organize a series of horse races at the Kreiburg Racecourse. Unfortunately, at these races, tragedy would strike the Barriere family as Simon would fall off his horse, suffering severe irreversible trauma leaving him with the mind of a toddler, forcing him to be placed in a care home. This incident would result in Count Barriere cutting the family off entirely, leaving the family alone and without support.
Reger, in his denial and grief, turned to alcohol to cope. The influence of alcohol caused him to lash out at his family, beating his wife and daughter whenever he drank. Whenever he was sober, he would regret his actions, blaming himself.
One day, while returning home from a drinking session, Reger would fall and break his neck, killing him. Rosa would be the one to identify his body. After identifying the body, Rosa would never return to the Barriere household, leaving Lily to fend for herself.[3]
Alternate Theories and Conclusions[]
- While not officially confirmed, it is assumed Rosa is the brunette woman in Lily's trailer.
- Alternatively, it is possible Rosa is the same person as Alice's Colleague. In the trailer, Alice's Colleague is shown leaving the house, which could be inferred as Rosa leaving the family.
- Another possibility, based on the bit seen of her in the family portrait, it is also possible she is the blond woman from the beginning of the trailer due to the similarity in hair choices.
