Sangria's Mother was Sangria's deceased mother, who likely died from drinking the mysterious stench-filled bowl.

Appearance & Personality[]

Sangria's Mother appears old, with silver, loose, wavy hair, it seems to be loosely tied or braided at the back, and her bangs are unkept, with various strands of hair hanging in front of her face. She appears with a long nose, visible wrinkles around her mouth, and overall a tired physique. She has what seems to be a black dress, with a black turtleneck with a white ruffled collar.

Compiled Overview[]

At some point, presumably in her elder years, she was pregnant with Sangria. For certain unknown reasons, Sangria's Mother was given an unorthodox prescription, likely from a psychic.[1] The prescription stated: "Your firstborn is the best "medicine." Please take the following dosage before giving birth...", with the rest of the prescription being torn off. As a result she applied the liquid, as seen from Sangria's Animated Background Story. However, ever since the mention of the mysterious medicine, Sangria's Mother hasn't been brought up again, presumably because she is dead.

Alternate Theories and Conclusions[]

  • Sangria's Mother's medicine may have been poison or some dangerous medication that resulted in her possibly dying during pregnancy, which would explain why she is no longer mentioned.
  • The psychic mentioned might've been a cult member, they might've been indoctrinating Sangria's Mother to some form of death before giving birth to her daughter. Considering Sangria's story, this psychic may have been connected to Mrs. Nicholas Orsonville, or be the same person.
    • Stated in her Introduction Backstory, Sangria's fate seems to have been sealed since her mother drank the stench-filled bowl, whether this means her being left with an abusive father, or becoming a victim of Mrs. Nicholas Orsonville is unclear, however both might've been possible and deliberate.
    • With Mrs. Nicholas Orsonville's apparent belief of there being no rebirth without pain, perhaps they saw pregnancy as rebirth. Sangria's Mother's death might've been a "rebirth" to be Sangria, hence why she was described as the best medicine, as in a way she would be brought back to life as her daughter, also sealing her own fate.
      • This might also mean that Sangria's fate being sealed is to be also indoctrinated and becoming a member of the cult.
