The following page is a collection of costumes and other cosmetics that may be related to the Season 27 sub-storyline, based off of the Essence story trailer, cosmetic descriptions, and similarity in visual styles. In some cases, an overarching storyline has been pieced together based off connections made by the community.

Essence storylines in general, theorized or official, are not related to the Main Story of Identity V.

Season 27 Essence 1[]

This essence is themed after the conflicts between the Byzantine Empire and the Avar Khaganate, and their resurrection when those of the future were called to the ruins left behind.

Essence Introduction[]

Dear guest of the Empire, attracted by the glamorous light, ghostly incarnation, brought back with reverence. In the presence of absolute ruler, honor is nothing but an empty husk.

Essence Backstory[]

Thousands of years ago, the Avar's Chariot driven in the arena was no longer satisfied with his humble position. When he charged into the throne room with his followers, the great Basilissa gave an order, and his desire to possess the throne was at last crushed under the monarchy. Thousands of years later, the buried kingdom reappeared. Following the gurgling of the river, the people of later generations arrived in the underground kingdom. The statues locked by chains warned of the solemnity of the past, but the ignorant people only knew to pick up the gold in front of their eyes, not knowing the price of their greed. From the moment they stepped into the kingdom's tomb they were marked as sacrifices, and the great Basilissa will be revived, once again rising to the throne of absolute monarchy through her remains, just as she did thousands of years ago.^[1]

Season 27 Essence 2[]

This essence was themed after Dungeons & Dragons, and acts as the Global Server's fifth anniversary. It came with the event Castle Zinaida's Unfinished Chapter, and is also themed after the event.

Sway	Coordinator	She chose Sway as her name on the island. Just like her namesake, an elegant plant, she will bring sunlight to light up every corner of Bélóstáin.
Paranormal Detective	"Prisoner"	After joining [Ghost Club], he became a paranormal investigator. With peculiar tools he invented himself, he unveiled the truth behind supernatural activities.
Tuberose	The Ripper	He chose the name of the flower Tuberose. A delicate flower which blooms just as the last ray of sunlight leaves Bélóstáin, saving its beauty for the graceful night.
