Silken Steps is a Reoccurring Time-Limited A-Tier Costume for the Entomologist, Melly Plinius. It was introduced to the Illusion Hall for the Call of the Abyss VIII tournament to celebrate the winners of Call of the Abyss VII, GG.

As it is not a true Limited Costume (which are denoted by the "limited" tag found in the top right of certain card icons), it can return to the Illusion Hall shop multiple times. It frequently returns with its pairing Costume Siegeforged.
- It was originally available for purchase from April 3rd to May 5th, 2025 to celebrate the winners of Call of the Abyss VII.

Unafraid of wind and rain, winning four championships
After the 2024 Call of the Abyss VII event came to an end, the A costumes design work of the champion team Chengdu GG were quickly launched. After in-depth communication and exchanges with the team, the design team fully absorbed the team's characteristic elements and cleverly integrated them into the fashion design, and carefully created two commemorative [A Costume] The Breaking Wheel - Siegeforged and [A Costume] Entomologist - Silken Steps.

In this COA VII, the Chengdu GG team survivors also performed brilliantly in the subsequent matches. They all showed their personal charm in the finals. Eighteen GG_18 played an important role in the game with his Entomologist. He provided strong support for his teammates with many key interferences and helped them to open up the way for the team with the net in his hand and jointly deal with the pursuit of the hunter.
[A Costume] Entomologist - Silken Steps, carefully crafted for the survivor of Chengdu GG Team, with red tassels hanging from her bamboo hat, her face looming under the veil, and the team logo integrated into the embroidery on her collar, as she walks through the crowds of people in the downtown. The cross-collar skirt is neat and generous, with lively Shu embroidery patterns embroidered on the hem, a red knot wrapped around her wristband, and a delicate lantern and dagger on her waist. The lights and the rivers and lakes are the direction she is heading.
The lantern hanging on the top of the walking stick is of exquisite structure and has undergone countless designs and modifications. Just like the Kongming lantern she has been looking for, no one knows at this moment what light and heat it will emit in the future.

Design Idea Sketch[3]
The theme for Entomologist's costume is "hidden hero." We combined elements of new Chinese aesthetics with elements of Chengdu GG's team identity. Through linking Wuxia wanderers and an eSports team, we created an Eastern aesthetic with the motif "Through rain that gleams with golden fire, embers burn, defying mire." The outfit uses red, white, and black and its main colours. Her headpiece is a layered bamboo hat with red gauze, covering her face with a veil subtly revealing the team's insignia. The costume is a black and red gradient, pairing a cross-collar top with a modified Mamianqun (traditional Chinese skirt). Her shoulders are outlined with three-dimensional landscapes and rivers in Shu embroidery that features the team logo. Her accessories include bamboo lanterns and a warrior's belt, incorporating Shu embroidery needle techniques, Sun Bird pattern, and GG's team logo. The costume's special effects are Kongming lanterns.
We selected the first in the set for further refinement. We redesigned her handheld object, adjusted the colour and details of the embroidery, and changed the cape to a more heroic and wanderer-esque cloak to create the final version.

- The red tassels hung from her bamboo hat, and her face was faintly visible under the veil. The team's LOGO was merged into the embroidery on her lapel, following her through the crowds in the downtown area.
- The cross-collared skirt is neat and generous, the hem of her clothes is thorny with lively Shu embroidery patterns, red knots are wrapping around her wristbands, and the her waist is equipped with a delicate lantern and dagger. The lights and the rivers and lakes are the direction she is heading.
- The lantern hanging on the top of her cane is of delicate structured and has undergone countless designs and modifications. Just like the Kǒngmíng lantern (Sky lantern) she has been looking for, no one knows at this moment what light and heat it will emit in the future.
Showroom Interface Design
The golden rain poured on the clear lake. She walked forward on the lantern floating on the blue waves. Her chic figure flipped and leaped, and waved her cane to sprinkle bright lights.
The invention of Kǒngmíng lanterns was stagnant, and the treasure chest suddenly appeared like a timely help. The blooming light gave her a long-lost inspiration, and she was finally able to watch the lights rise slowly.
In-Game Display
The team LOGO on the shawl floated with the pace of moving forward, and small lanterns scattered quietly around her, sprinkling drops of fireflies from time to time to illuminate the road ahead for those who came later.
