Sky Mender is a Reoccurring Time-Limited A-Tier Costume for the Dream Witch, Yidhra. It was introduced to the Illusion Hall for the Call of the Abyss VII tournament to celebrate the winners of Call of the Abyss VI, DOU5.

Availability

As it is not a true Limited Costume (which are denoted by the "limited" tag found in the top right of certain card icons), it can return to the Illusion Hall shop multiple times. It frequently returns with its pairing Costume Ocean Conqueror.

• It was originally available for purchase from April 3rd to May 1st, 2024 to celebrate the winners of Call of the Abyss VI.
• It returned for purchase from April 30th to May 21st, 2025 during the Call of the Abyss VIII Finals.

The design work of the championship team’s A costumes also started quickly after that, and with full communication of the team, the design plan was drawn up, so the team elements and costume design are cleverly integrated. The [A Costume] Dream Witch - Sky Mender and the [A Costume] Antiquarian - Ocean Conqueror came into being!

Use her body to mend the sky and move forward indomitably
This time, the hunter of the COAVI champion DOU5 team’s exclusive champion costume chose the Dream Witch. As we all know, the Dream Witch is Dong Xuan’s signature character, and has left countless wonderful scenes in the professional arena. In the COAVI finals, he also won many wonderful victories with the Dream Witch! The Dream Witch in his hands has a sense of oppression. Full of possibilities, the possibilities are endless. The audience's title of "Xuan Witch" represents their recognition of his powerful strength!

[A Costume] Dream Witch - Sky Mender, the Dream Witch and her follower are mainly in the blue color of the DOU5 team. They wear a golden crown to symbolize glory, and their long white hair is scattered like clouds, with cyan lightning patterns. Reflecting her face, the gorgeous underskirt is embroidered with gold threads and auspicious clouds, and is decorated with jade and white beads. The slender hands have traces of being eroded by the Sky-Mending Stone. Even if there are difficulties, they must move forward bravely. The silver scales on the lower body are hidden with cyan electric light. The follower next to her wears flower ornaments on her head, a light fan belt and a light dress. A plump coconut is wrapped around the branch of the waist. The skirt is as blue as the blue sea and is stained by the torrent. The mud that came came could not stop her progress. A hoe that shines brightly due to the mining of strange stones is wrapped with ivy. It is precisely because of careful cultivation that the dead wood can grow into spring.

The cyan color that represents the DOU5 team, the thunder and lightning element on the team logo battery shape, and the "coconut" nickname of DOU5_DongX player Dongxuan are perfectly combined in the costume, making [A Costume] Dream Witch - Sky Mender split beautiful full of momentum in the game, just like the DOU5 team, full of power, brave the wind and waves, and move forward indomitably!

Design Idea Plans
The sky is replenished, and the four poles are upright; carrying Fangzhou on your back, embracing the round sky.

Welcome the sudden rain and vow not to return; Hold the tiny tree in your hand and fill the sea.

Before making the Champion costumes, we communicated with the team and they asked for "Chinese-themed" clothing. Based on the choice of characters as Dream Witch and Antiquarian, as well as DOU5's team colours/slogans, we chose the main theme of the transforming creatures in Classic of Mountains and Seas.

As Dream Witch takes the form of a woman with a human face and a serpent's body, we chose the goddess Nüwa from the myths. In order to match the thunder and lightning elements from the team, we added the setting of mending a sky in turbulent weather. Thunder and lightning were part of the costume's special effects. Dream Witch's followers are also set as children made by Nüwa out of clay, and their weapon is a hoe made of coloured stones. In order to further highlight the characteristics of DOU5 and its players, we added a coconut to the follower's waist and Nüwa draws "hexagons" in the sky in the costume's showroom interface.

Based on Antiquarian's character and her hand-held item, we chose Jingwei from the myths and designed it with the team's colours in mind. We focused on adding bird elements to the skin and how they become her bare feet to embody the theme of transforming creatures. Her flute becomes a tree branch used by Jingwei to reclaim the sea. In order to further highlight the team, we added their logo to her waist, and added an interaction between Antiquarian and four birds in the costume's showroom interface.

The two costumes combined make up "Mending the heavens" and "Filling the Ocean." It not only embodies the slogan of DOU5-- "Ride the wind and crest the waves; press forward courageously," it also tells the story of DOU5 in COAVI. The team's hunter turned the tide at the critical moment and "mended the heavens," and the team's survivors persevered in their matches to "fill the ocean."

Design Idea Sketch

The tone of the first sketch was a little messy, so we made a new sketch.

In the second sketch, we incorporated various traditional decorative elements to make her more in line with the expected setting. Among them, the image of sketch 1 is most in line with Nüwa’s temperament, so we refined it on this basis.

The overall effect of sketch 1's refinement is more in line with expectations, but the details are not refined enough and lack some sense of high-end.

In the end, we improved the high-end decoration details and materials to make the entire costume more in line with the setting.

Model Details Description
The sky is repaired and the four poles are straight; it carries the square state on its back and embraces the round sky.

1. Her hair is dancing lightly, the golden crown on her head is inlaid with gleaming jasper pearls, her eyes are covered with flowers and leaves of vegetation, the lotus totem is hidden on her forehead, and cyan lightning reflects on her flawless jade-like face.
2. The delicate and lustrous silk fabric flows like the Milky Way on her soft waist. The close-fitting skirt made of light gauze is embroidered with auspiciousness and flowers. Her slender hands are eroded by the blue patchwork stone, and the auspicious jade around her waist is warm and clear.
3. The silver scales are like precious armor, reflecting the beautiful light in the flash of thunder and lightning. The green branches and buds are attached to her strong long tail, and the world's wind and rain are also blocked at this moment.
4. The auspicious auspiciousness on her smart and lovely temples is perched in the flower dew, and the bright blue lines on her forehead tell the world where she comes from. Her lowered eyes are staring at a certain place, as if looking for stones that can be used to mend the sky.
5. The green shirt and skirt were embroidered with golden auspicious patterns and lotus totems. The branches around her waist were wrapped with a plump coconut. The skirt, as blue as the sea, was stained with mud brought by the torrent, but it could not stop her progress.
6. A hoe that shines brightly from the mining of strange stones, with dead wood as the handle and black iron as the axe, can destroy everything wherever the mind goes, so it is spring.

Showroom Interface Design

The soil dripped from the branches she waved in her hands, transforming into follower and descending into the world. As she pointed out her fingers, the follower immediately understood her meaning, raised their heavy hoe and swung it towards the earth to dig up the colorful stones for her to patch up the sky.

Nüwa stood on the top of the mountains, and the thunderstorms did not stop her. The messenger quarried the stone lightly and powerfully, and the blue bird also picked up a colorful stone from afar and placed it in the palm of Nüwa's hand. Power, invincible in the world.

In-Game Display

Nüwa is looking for traces of survivors. Her whole body is exuding colorful brilliance. Her figure is taller and more mysterious against the background of thunder and lightning. Her long silver-white hair complements the lightning. She is not afraid to accept the challenge of nature and dance with thunder and lightning.

Trivia

• This costume is based on Nüwa, a mother goddess and the creator of mankind in Chinese mythology. She is known for mending the sky with five colorful stones and replacing the four pillars that support the heavens with the legs of a tortoise.
• Dream Witch is the first character to receive two Champion Series Costumes.
  • DongX, who was part of DOU5 at the time, the team that won Call of the Abyss VI, had always wanted to select Dream Witch, however seemingly was unsure if a character could be selected for a Champion Costume multiple times, and was going to select "Disciple" or Geisha if Dream Witch wasn't available. Fortunately the Identity V developers let him choose her.
