Backstory[]
Character Introduction[]
Violetta was once a famous burlesque actress. When the audience lost interest in her, she went on to perform at a third-rate circus troupe, with the strong wish to get on the stage again and become a star with all eyes on her. With the help of a mechanic, Violetta put agile mechanical prostheses and some intricate mechanical devices on herself. She created a new form of performance—the humanoid spider show. Her old employer turned her down, but Violetta didn't give up. She accepted an invitation to perform and was getting ready to return to the stage at the Oletus Manor. However, out of personal safety concerns, no one should get too close during her performance.[8]

To [Player Name] (2020)[]
Dear [Player Name],
Everyone, no matter how desperate, should be hopeful on the first day of each year.
I do think that's the case.
I woke up early that day, sat on my bed and waited. Betty brought breakfast, Pip brought lunch, and Clara brought dinner.
"Do you want to go out and play?"
Everyone asks me the same question- as that was the first day of the new year.
I didn't tell them what I was waiting for. Yet everyone clearly knew the answer. There's always this subtle... expression on their faces. I didn't like the way they looked at me, like how they looked at kittens and puppies.
Max is the only one who looks at me the same way he does others. I knew what they said about him behind his back. Is Max a good person in the traditional sense? No. But I finally got the same things as others do from him. Others might not think that's a good idea, but that's what I needed.
Of course, he never came back on the first day of that year. Max came back in the morning the next day reeking of alcohol.
"Happy New Year!" he threw a dark grey guernsey shirt at me. Clara was mad. She thought Max was inconsiderate and took me for granted. She would never understand what I really needed. I'll never forget this day, no matter what. Not for this "present", not for Max.
It's for me, finally knowing what I needed.
Happy New Year.
Yours sincerely,
Violetta
Letter to an Old Friend (2021)[]
Dear Violetta:
My dear! I was really surprised by your letter!
While I haven't heard of the "Hullabaloo" Circus you mentioned, we're happy to know that you're doing well. We trust that those who have taken you in are kind people like us.
Betty and the others were really worried on the day you left. The way you worked hard in your performance, mended clothes, clumsily standing on a ball, and rolling around comically...I can't imagine who else would accept you other than us.
Winter is quite harsh this year. Please take care. Those peculiar joints of yours after your reconstruction would get rusty and painful. They would even make troubling sounds in the middle of the night. But at least you get to crawl around now. As you mentioned, you should be really grateful to the person who reconstructed your body. I have no idea how they managed to fix those ugly and horrifying limbs of yours.
Oh right, we are doing well. Do you remember how we were always in financial trouble since our show was outdated? We couldn't afford proper clothes, let alone proper food. But after you left, things got better day by day. Max even bought wine for everyone to thank them for their hard work...
Sigh, that wine was pretty good. If only you were here.
Another new year is around the corner. Thank you for writing to me. You should take care of yourself as well, dear Violetta! We've been quite lonely since you left.
I'll stop here now as I still have to prepare dinner for tonight. Max also wanted to discuss the new year's show with me as my performance is going to be the highlight. Damn it, I really want to stay out of this. It's so annoying.
Happy new year, Violetta
Missing you,
Barbara
A Page from Violetta's Experiment File (2022)[]
Serial No. 8-0-1
Name: Violetta
[Test Indicators]
1. Marginalized
2. Blind kindness
3. Appeasing personality
[Inclination]
A "tool" deceived by hope
[Test Results]
1. Overall Evaluation:
No. 8-0-1 was constantly alienated by the others, and her kind personality made it worse.
2. Procedure:
It wasn't the plan to use the medicine on No. 8-0-1, and it didn't affect the subject's behavior as we thought it would anyway. Therefore, we've allotted a serial no. based on the results for now.
No. 8-0-1 wasn't the core of this experiment, but her naive personality was worth looking into, so we didn't plan to use the medicine on No. 8-0-1. During the experiment, No. 8-0-1 never resisted when the others bullied her. The obedience she showed in pursuit of the goal made the bullying worse.
3. Analysis:
No. 8-0-1's behavioral pattern was simple and goal-oriented: completing the quest in accordance with the rules while trying to get allies by appeasing and obeying others.
Her congenital disabilities and trauma molded no. 8-0-1's personality: with low self-esteem, she's weak and habitually chooses to avert when faced with bullying from others. Having been marginalized for so long. No. 8-0-1 longed to return to the stage and be valued by others. As she lacked experiences with positive emotions, she never doubted "hope" and even began believing in it blindly. The ultimate result was her underestimating the malicious nature of humans and languishing in illusory hope.
In this experiment group, No. 8-0-1 was at the bottom. After No. 8-0-1 was hurt by No. 8-0-3, the "harmonious" vibe was shattered. The rabbit's emergence exposed the wolves' tracks. Looking at the group as a whole, No. 8-0-1 being hurt intensified conflicts.
The research into No.8-0-1 wasn't of much value, and this subject is no longer useful. It may be worth looking into a by-product of this experiment - how will "evil" be affected when "kindness" is gone? Further research into this may be worthwhile.
The Last Page of a Diary (2023)[]
A new stage will be mine, right?
If it's truly as the owner of that manor said, a new stage will be mine, right?!
Violetta, it's finally time, and they — the once-prominent "Hullabaloo" — will even be sharing the stage with you again!
No one knows how much regret I felt on the day before the carnival.
No one accepted the invitation to my rehearsal that day, and so Bernard forced me out to "calm down for a few days." I walked alone through the street, only accompanied by that deflated ball.
A passing child noticed me and asked,
"Hey, are you from the circus?"
I didn't even have the chance to answer before another child kicked me,
"Stay away from that thing! It's a freak!"
They laughed and screamed as they ran, and it made me think — Yes, I've lost the stage, and my only show in "Hullabaloo." It's all my fault. I should have done better and made them like me more.
Sometime later, I read the report on the fire, and it filled me with terror — If everyone in Hullabaloo is dead, then who is left to prove that I was once a performer?
... No matter what, I should be grateful to the manor's owner.
I should be grateful for his script and that he brought us together again. I should be grateful for the best opportunity to perform that I'm about to have!
I will wait for your arrival, just as I once waited backstage of "Hullabaloo."
This time, I will make everyone put on their best performance, and everything will go just like the nursery rhyme in the letter —
"We will forget everything in the past and gain new life."
Violetta: Investigation FieldNotes[sic] I (2025)[]
The investigation into Violetta began with a human trafficking incident. The man involved was a trafficker named Max, who used a traveling circus as a front to exploit vulnerable individuals—especially those with physical or mental disabilities. He would recruit them and sell them to other circuses, underground black markets, or even darker places.
Max's exposure came as the result of an attempted murder. One of the performers he had taken in, unable to bear the humiliation during a "showcase," stabbed him with a hidden knitting needle. A large audience witnessed the attack, and chaos erupted. The constable soon arrived and took the performer away.
After surviving the attack, Max vowed revenge. However, when police discovered he had leased a dungeon and found some of the people he had trafficked—thanks to a tip from the injured performer—the case grew more complicated. It was at this point that I began my investigation and first heard the name Violetta.
Violetta
The first person to mention Violetta was Pip, a former circus actor now doing odd jobs for the troupe. He claimed to know nothing about Max's trafficking activities.
"Max said my act was boring," Pip grumbled, "but the more exciting acts couldn't do the grunt work."
When I brought up the attack on Max, Pip showed clear disdain, even seeming to take some pleasure in it.
"Perhaps that man thought everyone was like Violetta," he said.
With that, Pip finished his wine, then tipped the bottle at a strange angle, spilling the last drop. It was then that I noticed he had six fingers on his right hand.
Pip shared that Max had found Violetta under a chair in the audience stands. It was unclear whether Max took her in because he immediately had a performance idea for her, or if some fleeting kindness moved him. But Pip was certain that it was the former—Max showed no real compassion for Violetta afterward. At least, that's what Pip saw:
He placed Violetta on top of a wine barrel in front of the circus tent. With nowhere to lean, she had to constantly roll around to maintain her balance.
"From a distance, she looked like a rolling meatball," Pip said.
The spectacle caught the attention of passersby, and Max used it as an opportunity to lure them inside for the show.
As Violetta grew older, Max put her in a custom outfit and made her perform on stage. She had to stand, tumble, and crawl, often at the mercy of Max's whims.
"But this wasn't even the worst thing he did," Pip added, setting the wine bottle down with a thud.
When the novelty of Violetta's act wore off, Max devised a new one: balancing on balls. He made all the children, including Pip and Violetta, participate. Given Pip's description of Violetta, I couldn't fathom how she could manage.
"Of course she couldn't do it!" Pip screeched.
But Max disagreed at first. He believed that if Violetta were light enough, she could float on the ball like a feather. To make her lighter, he began to cut her food portions.
Pip suspected that, if not for the food brought to Violetta by Betty, Clara, Barbara, and sometimes himself, she might not have survived that winter.
"To be honest," Pip muttered, "I thought Violetta would end up doing what Merrick did sooner or later."
Merrick, as it turned out, was the performer who had tried to kill Max.
"But Violetta didn't," Pip continued. "She was always strangely happy during each practice." His tone was perplexed.
However, it wasn't long before Max came up with another idea, and Violetta was "spared" from further torment.
"Violetta was always a bit odd," Pip said, a distant look in his eyes. "I can't put my finger on it. Not bad, just... kind. Maybe a little odd."
Pip tilted his head, trying to recall a moment that could explain his feelings.
"There was this one time," Pip began, "when one of the performers had to leave for an emergency, and Max needed a temporary act. At the time, a popular performance by triplets born with dwarfism was going on in the city—comical tricks, walking on balls, riding monocycles. They were a hit."
Max, of course, had the idea to put Violetta in a similar act. But just before the performance, the city boycotted comical performances by performers with disabilities, and Max abandoned the idea. Pip was relieved that Violetta was spared—for the moment.
However, one evening not long after, Pip overheard someone cursing quietly inside the circus tent.
"Who stole my performance?! Who stole my performance?!" the voice shouted, mimicking a high-pitched, dramatic tone full of exaggerated resentment.
Pip was sure it was Violetta. Her voice had changed, but he recognized it nonetheless. When Pip finished his story, he drained the third bottle of wine I had ordered for him.
"Actually," he added, "if you're really interested in Violetta, you should talk to Barbara. She was Violetta's best friend. She lives in the city."
Before we parted ways, Pip gave me an address.
I eventually found Barbara at "Barbara's Tailor Shop" in the city. She wasn't wealthy, but she and her husband lived a stable life. After I explained my reasons for visiting, she handed me a letter that Violetta had sent her.
"This was the first letter she sent after she left. It's also the only one," Barbara explained, her voice tinged with nostalgia.
From the letter, I learned that Violetta's mobility had improved after her limbs were modified so she could write.
"Did you write back?" I asked.
Barbara nodded. I inquired about the contents of her reply, and she paused to recall those faint, somewhat trivial memories:
"I just wrote about how we were doing at the time. Nothing special."
There was, however, something strange about Violetta's letter. She mentioned that her new performance was quite popular, and she was eager to share her joy with an old friend.
But then, without explanation, she stopped writing. Barbara shared my confusion. She sent several letters after that, but never received a response.
With Barbara's permission, I took Violetta's letter with me. I promised to contact her immediately if I uncovered anything new about Violetta or the Merrick case, and then I left.
"Oh, right!" Barbara suddenly called out as I was about to leave. "In that letter, I also told Violetta that Max was planning to make me the main act for the circus in the new year."
...
There are only a few files on Violetta in the manor's secret chamber, and the investigation into her past was brief. But there were photos included. One of them shows a traveling circus tent in the background, with Violetta placed on a small wooden stage in front of it. "Placed" is both a cruel and fitting description of her situation. In that era, people like Violetta and Merrick were displayed as curiosities for the public's gaze. Yet, in the photo, Violetta didn't shrink away from the camera. Instead, she waved her "hands" with joy and excitement, just as she had in other photos.
Violetta: Investigation Field Notes II (2026)[]
The record of Violetta is woefully thin. After sifting through a multitude of police files and the vague, hesitant recollections of those who claimed acquaintance, I found myself at the end of all obvious leads. To know the lady more truly, I shifted the axis of my inquiry away from the epicenter of that grim calamity, turning instead to its scattered fringes—those obscure, neglected recesses where whispers linger. It may be that the truth never lies bare among the conspicuous ruins left in the wake of flames, but rather sleeps unseen in dim corners, half-lit and overlooked. Time and result showed this course to be most wise.
One afternoon, near the site once known as Moon River Park, I entered a second-hand bookshop, its trade nearly extinguished. There, wedged incongruously amongst volumes on the theatrical arts, I came upon an old notebook. The proprietor professed no memory of it. Perhaps acquired in some bulk lot and promptly forgotten. It appeared to belong to a stage assistant from the more raucous days of a certain circus, now long fallen silent. Between hastily penciled work schedules, I found a miscellany of press clippings and private musings. Concerning the woman she branded a "freak," the same Violetta who never did live to see herself in the leading role, she left behind several passages. They did not pursue cause and effect in the manner of official reports; rather, they convinced me that truth sometimes hides in the folds and shadows of feeling.
"Max scolded me again today, claiming the lift was a fraction of a second too slow and spoiled the entrance of that new dancing girl. His mind is full of his new money-maker. By heaven! Who now remembers that Max once strutted through the circus boasting of the infant he had taken in? That deformed freak was our star that turned fortune's tide."
"After tonight's show, I was told to stay and clean the stage. I thought I could make short work of it, but some matters kept me past midnight. It is ever thus with her—an obsession that vexes the soul. Endlessly repeating those tiresome motions by day and by night, when there is no audience, no applause — only the mechanical rhythm of her intricate joints. Does she never tire? And I, poor soul, must wait for her to end that solitary, unseen performance before I can clear the wretched stage and take my rest. Her unfinished ambition seeped into every dull night I was unwillingly forced to extend."
"I have at last resolved to leave this post. Yesterday, the final batch of old props was sold off, including several pieces from her early exhibitions in the freak show. Upstairs, Max laughed aloud, saying the age had changed. People now desired dreams of elegance, not monsters dancing in shackles. Sergi and the others have stepped lightly upon the breeze of fashion, but for that freak, this was no contest of skill; it was a cruel jest of fate."
......
On leafing through the entire notebook, I found at last. Hidden within the cover's lining was the author's name, written in her own hand: Elena Ruiz, a distinctly Spanish name. From what her pages hinted, she knew far more of Violetta, yet had left the circus long before the massacre, thus escaping with her life.
Fortune favored me; locating Elena proved no great difficulty. Through the goodwill of the bookshop owner and his acquaintances, I was easily furnished with an address.
The dockside district near the harbor hung heavy with the mingled scents of spirits, tobacco, and brine. It is said the place swarms with foreign merchants, whose constant comings and goings make the streets uncommonly loud. At the given address, I found a dilapidated shack; a rainstorm two days past had left the ground muddy and slow to dry. Elena, at first wary, received me only after I produced the yellowed notebook and explained my purpose. Her expression shifted more than once before she bade me enter. Moving about the cluttered room, she spoke of Violetta as she remembered her.
"A freak. At first, I paid her no mind. Max had far too many new toys," Elena said, her emphasis ever falling on odd syllables, her speech colored by a Catalan lilt. "But she was the maddest creature I ever knew. Surprised? That I should use such a word?"
Violetta, she told me, scarcely disobeyed any order from Max, though to Elena's eyes they bordered on cruelty. After the bows had been taken, even if she was but a nameless player in the background, she lingered on the stage long after the curtain had come down.
"Once we waited close to an hour for her. It was nearly midnight, and every one of us was weary beyond bearing," Elena said, settling into a chair, half her face lost in the shadow cast by the window frame, her voice roughened. "I wished only to pack up quickly and be home, so we carried her off the stage together. Knowing how Max's commands were ever met with compliance, even with eager servility, who could have guessed she would suddenly struggle like mad, shrieking in such a piercing tone that my ears rang for two days."
"I am the leading lady! I am the leading lady!"
"She said she was the star. Oh, heavens!" Elena muttered, covering her ears, "How absurd. She was dreaming. Since trouble struck the city, burlesque was no longer in favor. Sergi and Natalie, that newly minted dancer, were all the rage by then. Audiences had grown tired of Violetta's deformity act and would not pay to see it. Still, she clung to the fancy that she might reclaim stardom with burlesque. Quiet as she was in most things, about performance she was often... well, unhinged."
I asked Elena if she knew the cause of this.
"Jealousy, most likely." Her reply was sharp and sure. Fingering the rough creases of the notebook, she went on: "I understand her too well. I once performed burlesque myself. I lacked a graceful figure, lacked a lovely face, unlike Natalie. People favor pretty faces, so I was relegated to the role of clown, drawing notice through ridicule. Some will plot and labor endlessly to catch the public eye. Others are born in its light and never have to give the matter a thought."
Yes, of course, she would be jealous.
Violetta, always trusting in hollow promises, awaited her own moment as the star. Then one day, new faces took her place, their posters papering the streets, their houses sold out. The grand stage Violetta had labored to prepare faded in the glow of others' renown, leaving not so much as an echo.
"Such a reversal would unbalance anyone," Elena remarked wryly, pointing first at the ceiling, then at the mud at our feet. "The drop was steep enough to drive the sanest mind to lunacy."
"Especially Violetta," she added.
"Why so?" I asked.
Elena's brow furrowed as though at a delicate question. Rising, she remembered to pour me a glass of water.
She studied me and spoke with quiet gravity: "She longed too much to be seen."
She longed until she would annotate and rehearse through day and night; longed until, even after the curtain fell, she would roam the empty stage alone; longed until pure admiration grew fangs and became jealousy rotting to the core; longed until, reckless, she drifted toward madness.
"The day she left the circus there were few to bid her farewell. Violetta... it was as if she had spent her entire life making the most careful, most solitary preparations for a performance that would never come." Elena shrugged, not unkindly. "As you see, I am not faring so well myself. But better this, I think, than to chase an intangible all one's life, only to lose that life in the end."
I smiled politely.
Before I departed, Elena handed me a slip of paper. "My knowledge of Violetta is limited. You may wish to inquire here."
Leaving her dwelling, I carried away a single question. Elena's analysis was sharp enough to admit no disguise. Yet could it be that Violetta's sole pursuit in life was merely to be seen?
The investigation must go on. Perhaps her tale is yet unfinished. Perhaps this actress, so desperate to stand in the full gaze of the world, has never truly stepped down from the stage.

Character Introduction[]
Soul Weaver's character introduction on the Identity V Official Website was reworded at some point before August 12th 2025. The following is the previous wording.
| Violetta was once a famous freak show performer, later reduced to performing in third-rate circuses after the audience lost interest in her. She's always wanted to get back on stage and once again become the much-anticipated star. With the help of a mechanic, Violetta installed flexible mechanical prostheses and a few sophisticated gadgets on herself and created a new show—Human Spider Show. Her old boss refused to let her perform, but Violetta didn't give up. She has accepted an invitation to perform, and is going to hold her comeback show at Oletus Manor. Of course, for safety reasons, audiences shouldn't watch it up close. |
Character Relations Background[]
The Character Relations Menu was updated on August 8th, 2024, and the wording of Soul Weaver's backstory was changed slightly. The following is the previous wording.
| Violetta was once a famous burlesque actress. When the audience lost interest in her, she went on to perform at a third-rate circus troupe, with the strong wish to get on the stage again and become a star with all eyes on her. With the help of a mechanic, Violetta put agile mechanical prostheses and some intricate mechanic devices on herself. She created a new form of performance-the humanoid spider show. Her old employer turned her down, but Violetta didn't give up. She accepted an invitation to perform and was getting ready to return to the stage at the Oletus Manor. However, out of personal safety concerns, no one should get too close during her performance. |

Compiled Overview[]
Backstory[]
Violetta was born either without limbs or with another disability which affected the limbs, and was abandoned at a freak show. Seeing an opportunity to make money, the ringmaster, Max, takes her in and shows her off to the public for a price. As she grows up, she learns how to sew, but soon the long lines disappear as the audience grew bored of her "performance". Trying to become a celebrity again and please her father, she tries to learn other tricks such as balancing on a ball, but nothing comes of her efforts and he has no interest in something that does not make him money.
The other performers were jealous of her for getting the audience’s laughter and cheers with those “simple” and “clumsy” performances.[19] Eventually, in an attempt to regain her past glory and obtain acceptance in general, she undergoes a surgery by a genius mechanic[20] to attach strange prostheses to her body. This still does not bring her into the good graces of the performers at the freak show. Accepting an invitation to "perform" at Oletus Manor, she leaves the freak show as the newest member of another circus.[21]
Events at the Manor[]
Violetta is the first participant to arrive at the manor, she finds the playbill on the table along with her keys, she also greets the rest of the participants (excluding Murro, although they still meet the next day).
The next day, Violetta approaches Mike and Murro as she is rehearing the playbill. Unfortunately for her, Mike wasn't in the mood due to a prior interaction with the other participants and yells at Violetta to stop. Violetta apologizes to Mike, and Murro comforts her by suggesting that she go to the Kitchen and help Joker prepare for lunch.
Later, Violetta and the rest of the group, excluding Margaretha, were in the Living Room as they cheered for Joker's performance. Margaretha enters the room as Violetta accidentally calls Joker "Sergi" while praising his performance, which both upsets Mike as well as unintentionally triggers Margaretha's hallucinations, causing her to have a panic attack. Violetta apologizes to Margaretha, who apologizes in return, reassuring Violetta who felt guilty. Later, the group went to the Dining Room for lunch. Violetta drops her playbill which is later picked up by Mike.
After Lunch, Violetta is searching for her playbill and is relieved to see that Mike had found it, but Mike refuses to return the playbill as it contains a secret message. This causes him to believe that one of the others is the killer behind the massacre, which results in an argument, making Margaretha and Joker leave the Dining Room, after this, Mike asks Violetta about where she had found the playbill, Violetta answers the question truthfully and Mike makes a promise to Violetta that he and the others will join the rehearsal tomorrow once he figures out the entire script.
Joker invites Violetta to rehearse in the Garden that night, Violetta comes early and begins rehearsing her playbill. She is then approached by Joker wearing a dark, black hood, and Violetta is excited that he has finally joined her for the rehearsal that she's been seeking. Joker convinces her to follow him outside to continue with the "rehearsal". Joker, leading them to the forest in the west wing, takes this opportunity to attack Violetta, sawing off her prosthetic limbs and throwing her into the snow, immobilizing her and leaving her to die from hypothermia. Fortunately, Murro and his Boar find Violetta and take her inside, hurrying to give her warmth with blankets. When found by Mike and Margaretha in Murro's Room, Violetta was still unconscious, buried by many blankets in an attempt to help recover her from the hypothermia. Her clothes were drenched from the melted snow, her skin was purple from the cold, and Murro said her prostheses were assumed to be sawed off. Mike had left to grab more blankets, but he calls Murro up to his room where they find a group of Joker's saws placed in the middle of it, Margaretha waits behind to watch Violetta and deduces that the culprit is likely Joker, who was the only one among them to know how to use that kind of saw.
Later on, Violetta wakes up, and Margaretha runs to Mike's room to tell the others, urging them to see her. When met by the other performers, Violetta was still out of her senses from the hypothermia, solely focusing on the rehearsal and not her condition, even saying she won't repeat her mistake, blaming herself for the assault and for the rehearsals being postponed. Mike attempted to get answers out of Violetta, but due to her state, Murro recommended that he leave her alone to rest until she's fully recovered. Everyone, besides Murro, leaves his room, Joker stands outside his door, looking at Violetta with a frustrated and sinister expression.
Violetta eventually wakes up again, likely from a nightmare, thinking about who had done this to her and who stole her performance, she even yelled out before seeing Murro and calming down a bit. She was still worried about the performance, as she panicked for a moment trying to find the playbill, finding it under her capelet, she felt relaxed. Murro asked about her state, and she explained how a "Mister in black" invited her to rehearse, and she followed him outside. She hoped to complete the performance despite her fragile state, inspiring Murro to agree to do the performance. After their short conversation, Violetta went back to sleep, and Murro went to find Mike to tell him what she had said and ask about performing. After agreeing to do the performance, Mike went to continue watching over her so that Murro could seek out Margaretha and Joker to ask them if they were also willing to perform. After Murro finished, he found Mike sitting in the Dining Room eating dinner, he updated on Violetta's condition, saying that she was still asleep.
During the night, after Joker had watched Margaretha fall asleep, he took one of her three perfumes, specifically the drugged perfume with the scent of trees roasting in the sun. Murro had attempted to stay up all night to watch over Violetta, reading a book, walking around his room, and doing other activities to help keep him awake, but he fell asleep on his chair. Joker came in, dressed with his black hood and mask, and opened the door, waking Violetta up. He is seen holding the perfume, likely using it on her. Violetta follows Joker, climbing through the door, barely managing to do so due to her broken prosthesis. During this, she recalls the cruel remarks and comments she had heard throughout her life as her prostheses slowly fall apart due to their already damaged state. She follows Joker to the garden, flashing as an illusion of light and curtains, she reaches towards it and either due to the hypothermia and/or the drugged perfume, experiences a beautiful illusion of herself. She saw herself as an able-bodied woman, walking with legs towards the stage while hearing the congratulations and praise from people around her. Dressed in a pink ballgown, adorned with roses, beautiful white gloves, with gorgeous make-up, and stylized hair as curled strands, with a lovely hairpin, she emerges from the curtains, filled with glee seeing the audience, she begins dancing elegantly, receiving rounds of applause and roses thrown to her. She's filled with joy despite this being a hallucination of her dreams that never came true, she reaches to the sky, before collapsing on the ground, dying with a smile.
The next day, Murro woke up to find Violetta gone, he searched for her everywhere, before finding her dead in the garden. Hearing the commotion, Margaretha came and found him with her, observing her having no breath, dying with a smile as if asleep, and accompanied by a scent she knew all too well—the scent of her favorite perfume. Shortly afterwards, Mike finds them, just as devastated as them seeing her body, he tested her breathing, and there was nothing. Shortly after Joker arrived and put on a poor act, possibly a sarcastic one, and referencing the playbill, calling her the fifth child. Margaretha remembers the conversation she had with Joker, in which he states that the death of the fifth child is the last condition to be fulfilled, believing the "warm-up act" has to end now.
Joker accidentally touches her, causing the golden ball that should've been on the Garden's Frog Statue, to roll to Margaretha's feet. She notices that it is a puzzle, and by placing all four Muse Symbol pieces together, a hidden compartment was unlocked, revealing new invitation letters to the remaining four participants, giving each their codes for their "performance", and posters of the next phase, starting in 3 days at 9 P.M., those who complete it before midnight are promised everything they desire. Murro blames himself for her death because he failed to watch over her due to him passing out from not sleeping. He promises to place her body in the basement in the forest to slow down the decomposition process so that once the snow melts, he can give her a proper burial.
Due to the events of their game, it is unknown if Violetta was ever able to be buried properly by Murro.
Alternate Theories and Conclusions[]
- Violetta joined the "Hullabaloo" Circus according to her 2021 letter, though it is unknown when she joined as she is not mentioned by any of the other circus members.
