Terror Shock is a gameplay event that occurs when a Survivor is hit while performing certain actions. It does not need to be equipped like a trait or talent from the Persona Web.
Appearance[]
When it happens, bright red Arial text reading "Terror Shock" appears for both the hunter and the survivor who was hit.
A Terror Shock occurs when a Hunter attacks a survivor while they are in the middle of performing an action. This includes obstacle vaulting, healing, breaking a Rocket Chair, decoding (Cipher Machines or Mad Eye's Consoles), and opening the exit gate.
Terror Shocks give 50% more damage on hit, and giving the Hunter double the amount of Presence.
Item interactions[]
- Being invisible after using a Decoy (Magician is excluded unless he meets the Terror Shock conditions)
- Using Chivalrous Sympathy as the "Knight".
- Copying the appearance of a survivor on a Coffin (Embalmer)
- Opening a Dungeon with a Crowbar (Duo Hunters only)
Special Objects on Maps[]
- Opening or closing a Chest
- Dismantling the breakable walls (Red Church)
- Sitting on the Roller Coaster, or sliding down the slide (Moonlit River Park)
- Sitting in the tram (Eversleeping Town)
- Riding the minecart, or using the elevator (Golden Cave)

- Heartless Trait (Lawyer)
Hunter's abilities that can Terror Shock a Survivor[]
Besides their default attack, some Hunters can use their abilities as an alternate way to Terror Shock survivors.
- Rocket Dash (Smiley Face)
- Chain Hook (Gamekeeper)
- Mirror Image (Bloody Queen)
- Kinetic Dash Hit ("Undead")
- Spy/Hunt ("Nightmare")
- Joyful Terror ("Hullabaloo")
Trivia[]
- It is similar to Fallen Misfortune (also known as Doom Shock) and Detention, in that it does double damage.
- Lawyer is the only survivor who cannot be Terror Shocked under any circumstances. Despite this, before the tutorial update in 2022, Lawyer was used as an example of how to Terror Shock someone.
- He can still get a Terror Shock if he gets hit while being invisible after using a Decoy.
- Mercenary can take a Terror Shock without falling immediately due to his Steel Will (This excludes Terror Shocks from Photographer because of his Spacetime trait and Hermit because of his Blessing trait, as these each make them do more than 2 hits of damage when getting a Terror Shock.)
- When "Goatman" hit Survivor with Terror Shock without being in cage, the damage will be increased by 50% damage (75% damage at total).
- In the mode Duo Hunters, all survivors can take a Terror Shock without falling as long as they have 2.5 or more health points.
