Compiled Overview[]

Background[]

Little is known about Thomas. At some point, he began working on a documentary series about "the abuse of bromide in psychiatric treatment".[1] As part of his research, Thomas would reach out to Lorraine Miller to learn about bromide's medical application using real examples. While waiting for Lorraine in the reception of White Sand Street Asylum, a "prison break" would occur. Thomas took out his camera and began documenting the riot. Among the rioters, Thomas took note of the leader, who he would later learn was Kurt Frank, who was attempting to jump out of a window using a rope made from bedsheets. The participants were shortly subdued before anything could happen. This incident gave Thomas the opportunity to see first hand how the asylum used medication on its patients.

Thomas would interview Lorraine, learning that the asylum primarily used a bromide-based sedative, as the price was low. Lorraine would assure Thomas that no amount of medication based abuse or overdose was taking place. She also explained that they use either chloral hydrate or apomorphine for patients, noting that Kurt was prescribed apomorphine due to his allergies. She talked to Thomas a bit more about Kurt, explaining how he ended up at the asylum due to public disturbance and how, at the asylum, Kurt saw everything as if it was some grand adventure.

Before leaving, Thomas would visit Kurt in his solitary confinement room. He took a photo, showing Kurt's poor state. This would be the last time Thomas would ever see Kurt Frank.

Alternate Theories and Conclusions[]

  • It is theorized that Thomas might also be the male colleague investigating Michiko in Geisha's 2025 Letter.
