—Duo Hunters' item description from the Phone Booth |
The Travel Journal, also known as Gulliver's Travels, or Travel Journals in in-game prompts, is a book and a non-exclusive tool and item carried by Kurt Frank that can be found in a chest (legacy). It will also drop when the Explorer drops it for another item or when he is eliminated.
Players may also purchase the book from telephone booths in the Duo Hunters mode for the price of 1500 points.
Gameplay[]
Using the Travel Journal, allows the user to shrink into their miniscular size. While this makes it harder for the Hunter to find them as it hides from detection from the Hunter's Radar Map, the user will move slower and are unable to perform interactions such as Decoding a Cipher Machine, Vaulting, and Dropping Pallets unless they grow back to their original size.
While the Travel Journal, certain Hunter abilities can be able to detect them.
- Hunter's Persona Talents can expose your location directly such as:
- Some of the Persona Talents may not expose your location, they do provide the Hunter a hint of your presence:

- No Survivors
- Addiction

Additionally, the Explorer can search for three buried "treasures" in the form of Password Pages around the map while shrunk. These Password Pages can be used to help decode cipher machines.
- The Travel Journal will show the distance and the direction of a Password Page (yellow numbers) that can be dug up.
- The Travel Journal will also show the distance and the direction of the Hunter (red numbers) up to 60 meters.
- A Password Page can be inserted into a cipher machine for up to 50% decoding progress (35% for Duo Hunters).

Design notes of Explorer:
It was originally designed with the image of a homeless man: messy hair, a big stubble, a travel bag, and tools that can be used for wild survival are tied to his body, reflecting the abjection of the survivors. Originally, what he was holding should be a book like "Guide to Survival", but the function of the book was later set to have the function of zooming in and out, so it was changed to "Gulliver's Game".
