Treasure Hunter is an S-Tier Costume for the Magician, Servais Le Roy. It was introduced into the Illusion Hall with the accessory Tome as part of the Treasure Hunter Package on September 30th, 2019. It is currently permanently purchasable in Illusion Hall.
It is connected to the Season 4 Essence 2 lore.
Appearance[]
Physical[]
This costume changes the physical appearance of Servais to have thicker hair which includes a slightly bigger beard and mustache, and blue eyes. One eye is covered with a golden monocle.
Outfit[]
When equipped, he wears a gold sequin tailcoat jacket and inner purple vest gile with inner red vest and white shirt, and a white bowtie around his neck. Eye of Horus belt buckle on the center of the belt, with leather belt pouch around the dark blue and brown striped pant. He wears a thigh garter on his left leg. He wears golden jewelries with Egyptian scarab beetle pendant on the upper right corner of his chest. On his hands he wears golden rings and a golden winged scarab beetle bracelet on his left hand and a golden snake bracelet on his right hand, with a pair of brown gloves. And a pair of shiny gold pointy shoes.
Object[]
His Decoy is changed into an ornate gold cane with the head of Anubis on top of it, with as his eye a glowing blue gem.
Special Effects[]
The costume sparkles gold in various areas of the suit, while the gem on his chest glows light blue.
Backstory[]
Chinese Backstory[]
"You are not dead, you are just no longer living."
Those deceased for millennia are better obediently buried underground—after the great battle, with a few grumbling complaints, the motley expedition team fell apart.
The Archaeological Professor finding The Book of the Dead displeased the Treasure Hunter, but the unexpected acquisition of the Scepter of Destiny and the Tome made him feel the trip had been worthwhile.
As he fingered through page after page of historical records and the Tome, the Treasure Hunter muttered to himself. That legendary God of Death who weighed the hearts of the dead and the serpent-bodied Goddess were both left far behind in the tomb—along with those ill-fated spirits that he summoned.
As for the lives or deaths of the living, the dead, or Gods—they were no longer his concern.
Peril could not deter him; the temptation of riches, glory, immortality, and resurrection were enough to drive the Treasure Hunter into madness.
The compass trembled faintly, its needle pointing the path ahead.
Toward the mountain peak where the sun rises, until the dusk of the setting sun, the survivor walked towards his immortal triumph.[1]
English Backstory[]
"You are not dead, you are just not alive anymore."
After the war, there were a few complaints left in the air, and the mixed expeditions were falling apart. Some chaoses were caused by our dear friend, Magician "the tressure chaser". Luckily, the "archaeological professor" not only found the book of the dead solve the chaoses but also found back the Scepter of Destiny and the magical dictionary.
Fingers pulled through the pages of these ancient books and the magical dictionary, "the tressure chaser" was a little upset and anxious. Regardless of the dead and the living, he couldn't care anymore.
The thrilling things will not make people deterred.
The temptation of money, honor and longevity is enough to make the Treasure Hunter crazy.
The compass trembled slightly, and the pointer stopped to indicate the next direction.
To the top of the rising sun, until the sunset, the survivor walked to his undead triumph...
Design Notes[2][]
In the name of archaeology, Treasure Hunter and the expedition team came to the depths of the desert. In a Pharaoh's tomb, the dazzling array of burial objects made him lose his mind and pull out the "Scepter of Destiny". The awakened dead were extremely angry that the adventure team almost died in the tomb! Just as the expedition team who escaped were celebrating their luck, the Treasure Hunter quietly put the Tome he found on the way into his arms.
The coat, hat, shoes and accessories of the Treasure Hunter all exuded golden colors. This journey must have been fruitful, making him even more richer. However, the one-eye that opened on the hat is shining with cyan light, which is quite strange. Treasure Hunter carries a cane with him, which is the standard equipment for all gentlemen, but the head of Anubis on the cane looks particularly special. The domain of Anubis is death and judgment.
Trivia[]
- The costume received an optimization on November 5th, 2020 that improved the quality of the costume to not only better reflect his artwork, but also had other overall improvements:
- The head and hat model got revamped, the coat got a more detailed texture, rolled sleeves got slightly improved, his gloves and pants got more saturation and his glowing particles were improved.
- The costume's cane has the head of Anubis, the Egyptian god of the underworld and the dead, judging dead souls by weighing their heart against a feather.
