The Ulliel Family is one of the 9 Great Families in the series Truth&Inference. They were first introduced in The Silent Rebel and briefly mentioned in Castle Zinaida's Unfinished Chapter. They are the owners of Ulliel Laboratory and a big pharmaceutical corporation. Currently, Ulliel is Mélodis Family's enemy in the competition of researching drugs.
History[]
The Ulliel Family history started around 200 years ago, when the Chausson family rose up and became rulers of a small country with the Lonely Moon castle as the center. Serving the royal were 9 knights from 9 different families, including Ulliel. All of them made an oath revolving bravery, courage, and loyalty to the Chausson family. However, after 5 years, when the Chausson family enacted new harsh laws, one of the knights called Crescent Knight decided to betray them. He, along with 7 other knights, allied with the Mélodis Family - a wealthy family from outside to start a revolution to overthrow the Chausson family.[1]
After the revolution succeeded, Mélodis lord became the new owner of Lonely Moon Castle and beheaded all of the Chausson family members, except the princess, whom Crescent Knight proposed to be kept alive. The Mélodis Family and the other 8 knights became filthy rich and rose to prominence in the competitive business world, collectively known as "Nine Families" nowadays. Though many of these families have since declined due to infighting, some continue to operate in the shadows.[2]
