On the other side of the alien world, in the dark realm of the abyss, the petals of evil bloom forever.
The false beauty will eventually wither, and the final decay will bloom again
Pickman once believed that the human body was the most beautiful art, but she believed that this beauty would eventually fade.
It wasn't until the corruption of the other world bloomed evil petals on her body that she realized that her favorite collection of poems had already bloomed, and that she would become its eternal spokesperson.
Art, poetry, withering, decay, blooming, eternity, from the complicated and boring ordinary world to the abyss on the other side of the world, the dance of Vile Blossom never ends.
Glimpse into the abyss and experiences endless darkness
As the latest work in the Call of the Abyss III fashion series, Vile Blossom continues the design style of Netherwalker, Surveyor and other fashions: Cthulhu-style alien objects erode the original exquisite and gorgeous clothes. The fusion of the two The overall level of fashion is no longer monotonous, thus creating an unusual and alternative aesthetic.

The gilded flowers inlaid in the Flower of Evil eye mask have grown enchanting and strange branches and leaves - where does the unheard-of vitality of craft creations come from? Do the few strands of black liquid dripping under the blindfold indicate that corrosion has quietly spread? At her waist, in the center of a red-covered and gold-edged book, tentacles slowly crawled out around a half-open eye. Could this be what her beloved poetry collection would look like after it bloomed?

Design Idea Plans
The story inspiration for Call of the Abyss III is taken from the famous novel "Pickman's Model" by H.P. Lovecraft, the founder of the Cthulhu Mythos.
In our story, Pickman is an unknown painter, and his model is a disfigured dancer. When the evil eye of the abyss opened in front of them, the intertwined fate of the two changed suddenly.
Pickman, who wandered in the abyss, threw away his ordinary human form and became a traveler in another world. His endless creation is both an outpouring of inspiration and an outlet from pressure. But the inner driving force of all his actions is that this deeply corrupted model, the disfigured dancer, resonates with the poem "Flowers of Evil" and deeply feels the pathology of society and the malice of life. She believes that all "beauty and nobility" are the result of human conspiracies. Pure beauty is fragile and short-lived and will eventually wither.
When the twisted foreign objects in the abyss bloomed petals on her body, she finally discovered the beauty described in the collection of poems - coexisting with deformed and evil thoughts, not afraid of decay and depravity, and blooming in the original contradiction between ugliness and beauty. She happily yearned for that other world, willing to leave her name and identity behind and return to a Vile Blossom that traced its origins.
Design Idea Sketch
As the core of the conflict in the story, we hope that the image of the "Flower of Evil" can combine beauty and corruption at the same time: in terms of style, it can break the common stack of gorgeous beauty, combined with the Cthulhu elements of COA, bringing players a more layered sense of beauty
- The mask is an important element of the Joker S costume design this time. Add a flower alienation mask to it to enrich the face of the fashion. The elements are consistent with the setting of the character's disfigurement while highlighting the theme;
- The bag on the dancer's waist was changed to the poem "Flowers of Evil", and the evil eye and tentacle elements in the writing are the expression of the abyss consciousness lodged in the book (character);
- Use the design of short skirt and high heels to reflect the perfect figure of the dancer + model.
Based on this, we have the first version of the concept. The overall shape of these three concepts is not retro and stylish enough, the design elements of the tentacles are not enough, and the pattern collage is serious. For various reasons, it failed to meet expectations.

In the redesigned second version of the concept was selected as the direction of refinement because the shape is more retro and the overall silhouette is closer to the dancer.

Concept 3 is very close to the "Flower of Evil" we wanted. After in-depth characterization of details (glossy texture of clothing, embellishment design of accessories, etc..), we got the final concept.

Trivia[]
- Although this costume was not available in the COA III essence, a graffiti for this costume, also called Vile Blossom, could be obtained from the essence.
